Sadly, the Blue Willow is not the same as years gone by. We’ve frequented this lovely southern restaurant for many years and always enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality, as well as the food. Went last week for a Christmas dinner. Reservations were confused, no outdoor Christmas lights, no lovely blue dinnerware, meats were marginal (at best) and the service was mediocre (and drinks are no longer included in the dinner price.) The gift shop was practically empty. Just so disappointing. I hope things turn around because it used to be our favorite.

The selection was good. They are as advertised. Southern cooking. Price was good. Very friendly staff. Will return again and recommend to friends.

I had heard so much about this restaurant through the years it was on my bucket list to try. We drive by here on our way to north Georgia a lot and had seen it many times so made reservations for today at lunch. I have to say I was disappointed with the food. The vegetables, baby limas, green beans and collards, weren't bad but I think the best item was the cornbread dressing. It was really good. However, while the fried chicken wasn't greasy it was dry as were the salmon patties and cornmeal muffins. I had a small piece of the roast with gravy on some mashed potatoes and the roast was tough. The potatoes were average as was the mac and cheese. The salad bar was almost nonexistent with just lettuce and the same veggies you typically find at most salad bars. I thought there would be some specialty salads such as potato salad or macaroni salad but there weren't any. I had seen a coconut cake I wanted for dessert but was the most disappointed in it. It was extremely dry as was the chocolate cake my husband had. The banana pudding was runny and just tasted like some instant pudding with a few vanilla wafers and a couple of banana slices thrown in. All in all it was average except for the price. A lunch for 4 was over $100 and definitely not worth it.

Food is great! Did I say great? Yup. If you like southern/soul food it's worth the drive. Moment of honesty - the restaurant looks to be huge antebellum house with most of the kitchen staff being minorities so it can definitely be reminiscent of a certain period in American history. Just thought I'd put that out there as it was the first thing I noticed. However, all the staff seemed to be pleasant. I've been a few times over the past few years and the quality of food and the taste have always been consistent. You can do a to-go order from the buffet. While all the food and dessert are in the same area, you have to tell them you want dessert so that they can charge you appropriately. I didn't see that mentioned anywhere when I added dessert to my tray. It was a little awkward at checkout when the young man said he had to inspect my to-go tray and then added the additional fee. Perhaps they should post that somewhere or if it is posted make it a bit more visible. While I know he didn't mean any harm, it gave off a vibe that I was trying to "get over" on the cashier when I simply didn't know that was a policy. All in all, it's really about the food, which is pretty damn great.

I ate there several years ago and the food was very good. I loved it. I ate there recently (October 2017) and it was no where near the quality or variety of food that I had previously. I don't like giving bad reviews but I am only stating a fact. If you have never been here, you may find that it is good place to dine. Love the Antebellum house and the rocking chairs out front.

Came here with my mom and mother in law for mothers day.they still talk about this place.
Food was delicious but may have been a little over price yet I understand you are really paying for the ambience and the uniqueness of the venue.
If you like soul food give this place a try not as good as your mother's cooking but if you can't go home this place is a good substitute.

We were regulars until last Friday, 8/4/17. I told our waitress the food was not fit to eat. We love well seasoned greens. The greens were tasteless, as was everything on my plate. Manager said he tasted the greens and found nothing wrong with them. Chicken was swimming in grease, salmon patties were not flavorful and greasy as well. Manager should have engaged us and offered to make things right. We decided never to return. Two very dedicated customers who have driven an hour each way to Blue Willow will never go back. I miss Mrs. Carol, she would have insisted on making this right. Finally, the Blue Willow needs to find another dessert/cake Baker. Anyone who cooks and bakes knows when they are being short changed.

This was absolutely the worst dining experience ever. The entire restaurant is infested with flies. The food was poorly prepared and the prices are outrageous. When I called their attention to the flies all over the salad bar their solution was to have a server stand guard and wave them away. When I addressed all of this with the manager he said "yes when we open the door the flies come in. There is nothing we can do about it." Here is a suggestion, THROW AWAY THE CONTAMINATED FOOD! If you need to eat in Social Circle, GA, try the Checkers, it is much better food.

Oh my God ,this place has some great food ! If you have not been please check them out. My friend took me their for lunch and the buffet is well worth the $20. Everything is home cooked and not to mention the great desserts !

This restaurant is noted for being "the best small town restaurant in the South" according to Southern Living but I'm not seeing it. The fried chicken wasn't particularly crispy or flavorful, the veggies didn't have much in the way of seasoning, and the salad bar definitely left something to be desired. On the plus side, the biscuits and sweets were pretty good. Overall, for a ~$20 buffet, I was not impressed.

Disappointed. Food was OK but definitely not worth the price. The atmosphere was nice. Prime rib was good but you had to ask for it so if you didn't know that was an option you wouldn't get it. Fish buffet was OK. Desserts were OK. Seems like they left out the sugar on the buttermilk pie. Presentation left a lot to be desired. Won't go back.

I had heard that the blue willow was a superior restaurant. How that rumor came about I have no idea. The cream corn, green peas were obliviously straight out of the can and a generic brand probably. The green beans tasted like they were frozen from a package. The chicken was greasy and the crust was slimy. I could have closed my eyes and picked a better restaurant. Disappointing would be too kind.
Disgusting would be more appropriate.
