We ate here for the first time tonight, loved it. I would definitely return. We had an Awesome waitress named Destiny, who was very friendly and attentative. I would recommend anyone coming to this area find this rare jewel. It can be a bit of a treasure hunt to find it, but the bounty is well worth it!
Atmosphere was pleasant and unique. Service was great. Grouper was chewy and seemed like it was old. Glass of water had lipstick on it. Everything else about the food was delicious. Especially the boudin fritters.
I come here every year on vacation, and Blackwater Grill is one of my favorite restaurants. This year, the menu listed "(New) Shrimp and Grits". Oh No, I thought. My favorite Shrimp and Gritscake had been dropped. Thankfully, it was still on the menu and was fantastic. Before I leave, I will have to try the new version, too. This restaurant has, in my opinion, the BEST shrimp and grits ever. I try S & G in most restraints, but none match the Blackwater Grill. Our waitress was friendly and did a good job. Beautiful smile, too.
Absolutely Delicious!! Relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is cooked to perfection and wait staff is very attentive. Second time here, both experiences were amazing. Will be back for sure.
Make Blackwater Great Again!?
Ate here for years when it was better managed. Went back this Spring and they were out of many basic ingredients. Andouille sausage? NOPE. Wow - how does that happen in 2017? Went back (mistake) this week on vacation and WOW it's even worse. The waiter was terrible, I had to get up and go to the kitchen to get a water refill for my table.
Having food to cook in your kitchen and training someone to refill waters is BASIC RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT!
Do yourself a favor, if you must eat here. Get it to go, and pay with a credit card so when the food is terrible you can get your money back.
Blackwater - feel free to reach out for more info, I'd be glad to give more input to make this restaurant what it used to be.
It does not get better than that bacon cheddar cornbread! The shrimp and grits had a little kick and were absolutely amazing!
First and last time. Ordered the London Low Boil and received potatoes, sausage, shrimp and corn on the cobb. Upon getting my order was disappointed that being a cajun type restaurant it had no flavor other than salt. It was not served with side order and all for $18.00. Very over priced and I would not recommend this location.
Our first time to eat at Blackwater GrillI got the jambalaya and it tasted burned. My husband got the London Low boil. Tasted like water with a little salt and no seasoning at all. No bread or crackersour waitress never asked how the food was, never asked if I wanted a soda refill, she did bring a water refill. The price for this food was overpriced. Not happy with my experience here. Will not be coming back.
The staff was very friendly and didn't mind answering any of our questions. Service was great. Food was good.
This is not the place it once was with the original owner. Most of the food is good but the jambalaya is no longer eatable. Under the new ownership, the Jambalaya is overly hot (spicy) just for hot's sake and not for flavor. It makes me wonder if they just "freshen up" the Jambalaya daily instead of cooking a new batch. adding more spices with each "refresh."
