I was there for a small family reunion in the summer, I have visited this park multiple times and it always looks nice, the street department keeps it looking nice for visitors, I think it's one of New Brighton's hidden gems.
Nice park on the river. Relaxing, good for a walk, fishing, picnic and nature watching. Well maintained and clean.
Love it. Been going here since I was born. Lived in NB all my life. I miss the Rock I'm still very upset they removed it after the train crash. They should have at least left a piece there
Great spot for a variety of species. Bass (Smallmouth and Largemouth), Walleye, Musky, Crappie, Catfish.
Great park for walking or riding. Pavilion available for parties. Lots of places to picnic.
Relaxing Park along the Beaver River. Eagles,Osprey, and blue Herons can be seen. Dam Is an excellent spot for fishing cat, walleye, alligator gar, and Northern Pike.
As a local, I'm going to have to say as far as Big Rock Park goes, it is a pretty alright place. Well kept for the most part, a mile strip of land, and plenty of area for fishing. Also, there are a few pavilions one can rent out.
However, the boat deployment area is certainly rough and could use some repair, and there's honestly not all that much to do around. Walk, look at pretty trees, eat lunch. But aside from being a mile long strip of pretty land? Kinda underwhelming.
The terrain is a fairly gentle slope and there's a walking path going along a good part of it, so it's good for exercise, jogging, and walkies.
In summary: Good park, but no frills.
Love fishing there :-)
We spend alot of time here. Its a great place to fish
