Elevator was in extreme need of repair. It sounded like a Foghorn every time it went from the first floor to the second floor. Our room was 220, attached to the elevator wall. Terribly noisy. We asked for a different room and was told that we would have to pay $50 more for that convenience of being able to sleep. It would have been good business 2 simply put us in a room where a person could at least sleep without any additional cost. Shame on the staff or not making that decision and shame on the owner if that is all they ask their employees to do business. The parking lot was tore up so there wasn't convenient places to park. At one point there was no one at the front desk to check in two different parties waiting in line while he went off site to get food for himself. Terrible experience.
King size bed was comfortable and room was very cozy. All areas were clean, quiet, and inviting. Will certainly stay again😉
Priced right. great staff. Breakfast was very nice. Room exceptional. Quiet spot well situated close, but not to close to 231S.
The staff was friendly and caring. While waiting in the lobby, the house keeping staff greeted me as they went by while cleaning rooms. Everyone made my stay great.
Great hotel. Rooms are clean, Staff is great for checkin and checkout. Room staff is great. Would have given 5 stars if the Breakfast staff was more engaged and the breakfast food was better.
We had to leave the Florida Keys, so we came to Troy. We got a Saturday reservation but soon realized we would have to stay Sunday also. The desk staff and house keeping did a fantastic job getting us into another room with no waiting. They also were able to arrange it so we had the same room for Monday.
The hotel was full and these folks had a lot of rearranging to do and a lot of room turn around to do. They were always cheerful, thoughtful and caring.
Recently had reservations for two nights during a Troy football weekend, due to my house being in the potential Hurricane impact area I tried to cancel and receive my money back since I couldn't make it. The manager said no I couldn't cancel or receive my money back, even though it was an act of nature that was preventing me from making the reservation. They also jack up the prices for the rooms during football season. I've always had good experiences with Best Westerns until this one. I will never stay or do business with this hotel and will make sure my friends and family do the same as well as my military friends I serve with as well. I hope the owner finds out and the manager is reprimanded. It's a shame that this isn't a positive review.
Wonderful stay. Beautiful and clean rooms. Friendly staff and a very good breakfast. Our bed sagged a little but it was fine once you got settled.
We make a point of staying at this hotel when we are in town, which is often. It's a really well taken care of hotel and the staff is always friendly and willing to work with us when we need it. Very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Love having this available at such a good price.
First, I tried to contact the hotel multiple times on our way up to add a friend to our room so they were able to check in since they would be arriving an hour before us. I continued to get rerouted to an automotive service and could never get through to someone during my 3 hour trip. Our company arrived, checked in the room (without our permission to the hotel), and was never asked for identification. The second problem was the stench in the hotel. I'm not sure exactly what it smelled like, but it was not a pleasant smell. When we walked in, there was another couple asking to change rooms because of the smell in their room. Once we got in our room, I pulled the sheets back to assure they were clean as I do at every hotel I go to no matter how well-known it is. There were stains on the sheets and not the normal, wet the bed type of stains. Then I pulled the sheets back to look at the pad under and there were multiple urine stains on it. When we informed the front desk we would not be staying anymore, the response we received was "Ok, you will not be charged. Have a good day" . We were highly disappointed and were lucky to get the last room at Hampton Inn which was phenomenal !
This is a very nice and well run hotel. Liked the inside corridor to the room. Breakfast was above average. Only problem was that I was unable to contact the front desk to leave a wake up call request. We used the alarm clock and all was well. I will return to this hotel in the future.
Clean rooms at a reasonable price. The breakfast was typical of a hotel breakfast although a bit better than most. Front desk was friendly and helpful. If you like to start your day with exercise, note that the fitness center does not open until 10 am!
I gave this hotel a 1star I'd because from the Front Desk to the room was very horrible for a 4.9star place. I stayed at this place before in the winter and had a horrible time. I thought it would be a little better this time around. I needed to use my points up.
First of all when I arrived in town I was calling the hotel no one was answering the phone. When Sherri answered the phone she was out of breath and very unwelcoming. I was told they were short staff of housekeepers and were very busy. Well when I got there everyone was running like a chicken with their heads cut off. To sum everything up the front desk was horrible and need to be properly trained. The front desk tells alot about Management ( no pun intended). Someone has to care about their job and know how to do it properly.
It was undergoing some renovations so it did not have the most attractive appearance but once finished I am sure it will be great. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. There was a mix up on my check-in date, they called to make sure I was coming and when we checked out there was a charge for the first day (I wasn't there) and the manager came over and had them remove the charge. Great customer service!
