“Excellent location-friendly staff-decent complementary breakfast-close to ferry docks”
We stayed here in May 2019. The location is the best thing I will give a shout out for. Staffs were quite friendly and had the opportunity to chat a bit with some of them such as Lotoya. They were all very nice and interaction to the hotel staff was quite pleasant. We could buy the tickets for ferry (Shepler's Ferry is the one we opted for but they sell tickets for both) and the carriage ride for our single day exploration to the Mackinac Island from the front desk. It was convenient as we did not have to stand in line at the ferry counter to book ticket or so. The time we traveled was off peak, yet it is mention-worthy as in peak time this could save quite some time for the travelers to the island. Room (#229) was clean and adequate and met our expectation. We enjoyed our stay here and if we are back in the area we would more than likely stay here. Decent breakfast. I saw pool staff cleaning the pool in the morning. Indoor pool also looked fine, though we did not have time to use it. To summarize, the location was great and close to everything as well as staff were quite friendly, which are the major positives as I would say.response / report this review -

A very good hotel to stay for a couple of days. The hotel is not overlooing the Mackinac Bridge but does look over the lake huron and also has a nice little beach.
They also have a big breakfast restaurant which serves many options. The rooms have fairly new furniture and are very comfy. Overall, a very good hotel to stay!response / report this review -

I went during the off season with some friends and it was wonderful! For only 99 dollars a night, it was great. I can understand how it can be way too expensive in the summer. Only downside was the employees were not wearing their masks, but half the people working in town weren’t so I was not really surprised. Room was clean!

Clean room, everything worked fine. Comfortable beds, large flat screen. Friendly staff. Grab and Go breakfast available due to pandemic. Great location in proximity to shops in the town. Pool looked very clean. Reasonable rates. Great view of Lake Huron. Would stay again.

Best hotel I've been to! The staff is quick, kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Many opportunities for activities presented themselves AT the hotel. We were able to buy tickets there, buy games, swim, relax, and they even had a fitness room. The room was gorgeous, well maintained, and comfortable. Being right on the lake at the tip of the mitt, this hotel has a beautiful view. With beach access, it's almost like you never have to even leave the hotel! Enjoy a tasty breakfast every morning for free, check in and out with ease, and relax in one of their jacuzzi rooms! We loved this hotel as it was the perfect spot for our honeymoon.

My boyfriend and I came for a mini vacation up here and the hotel was Absolutely wonderful. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful, and had answers to all of our questions. The room was very clean, and had a beautiful view of the water. We almost didn't want to leave! I would definitely recommend this place and plan on staying here again! It's close to just about anything, we pretty much walked everywhere.

So i came here as a weekend getaway/ birthday getaway and wanted a beachfront room. We got a first floor room which to some may oppose but turned to be a blessing in disguise. They first floor steps up onto a really nice Michigan beach with chairs everywhere. Coming in the late October the temps are cool and the fall leaves on The Island are in full color. The pool and hot tub are really nice and our room was spotless upon arrival. Needless to say we will be coming back for future vacations.

Very nice place. It is about half mile walk from the downtown and main ferry area. It was perfect to be away from traffic. Our room had view of lake and it was nice to have door open during the day and hear crashes of water. There is a nice pier next door too. Staff up front could be niceryou are a hotel service.

We stayed for a weekend at the end of September and were very pleased with our experience. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had a lake view room which was very clean and well appointed. The breakfast was decent. It was nice to be able to buy discounted tickets for the ferry to Mackinac island right from the front desk. We had a really great experience at this hotel and will stay here again the next time we visit Mackinaw.

We enjoyed the view. It was within walking distance to most everything but easy to access with a vehicle too. Honestly we didn't spend much time at the hotel. Pool was okay. Breakfast was okay.

Wonderful location and beautiful atmosphere. Just take caution when using the hot tub. It had an excessive amount of chlorine and bleached my swimwear. (The chlorine fumes also made our eyes EXTREMELY irritated.)
I would definitely stay here again! Breakfast was great. And, it's within a minute of the ferry landing for Mackinac Island!response / report this review -

The hotel was above and beyond my expectations. It was beautiful view, clean, lots of amenities and activities to do like a gym and pool with hot tub. The view in the breakfast are is amazing. The staff was very friendly upon entering and were helpful. The staff does an amazing beyond the call of duty job to make sure we had a good time. Whenever I go to mackinaw island I will only ever stay at best western.

Comfortable room, really cool walk in shower. Heard the complimentary breakfast was okay but didn't partake. Perfect location if you're looking to explore both Mackinaw City and the island. The best part is probably the pool and hot tub - excellent commodity after exploring the area.

The room was large and updated. It was what I would label as a modern mid-range hotel room. Nothing fancy, but very serviceable. The A/C was excellent. The view of the lake and shore was excellent.
However, the beds were quite well worn, and the mattress leaned to one side, indicating plenty of wear. The Internet was a lost cause. I simply ceased attempting to do anything on the Internet due to the constant time-outs.
Breakfast was okay..
So, overall, an OK room with a nice view and great A/C.response / report this review
