Small and cozy
This is one of my favorite places to visit in the winter time.
Nice atmosphere. Seating a little tight however.
Such amazing food and great personable service from Jen, the best! The prices are unbelievable for food made from scratch with quality ingredients. Also great wine selection and again prices can't be beat. Will definitely be back when we make a trip up from NYC where we have to pay three times the price for this good of a meal!
I just hate the staff here but everything else rocks. Staff never changes. Waitresses who just make you feel like you don't want to be there
Ordered from the dairy lunch menu. Tasty but portion a bit small for guys. Nostalgic ambience, must be favorite hangout place for those who love the ambience.
I have been a patron for 26 years for a reason ! The specials menu is ever changing and quite inventive .The regular menu is filled with Beech Tree standards from the carpaccio , brie and calamari to the Hanger steak , great burgers and great salads .The beer selection is very good both tap and bottle . They always have a good selection of wines as well. The staff aims to please . It does get busy during Power House theatre at Vassar College .That is short lived though .It is Poughkeepsie's Cheeers .The bartender makes fantastic cocktails to boot .Enjoy !!!!!!!!
Always good. What a neighbor bistro should be. From food, service to atmosphere, BTG is a great fit and a great fill.
A cozy space with delicious food and an interesting beer menu. It's rare that I'm in Poughkeepsie, but when I am I make it a priority to go to Beech Tree with my family before I leave.
Perfect location and good service. Salads were really uninspired and overloaded with croutons. Not a great experience. Passable.
A long-time craft beer destination before crest beer was a thing. $5.50 20oz imperial pints. Also, an amazing kitchen with half of the menu occupied by daily specials. You'll never see the same dish twice
We got a seat quickly which was great. The service was ok but not great or adaptive, the waiter left a few times without finishing an order.
I had the steak, medium rare, and the inside of the steak was great, the outside tasted charred though, as did the sauce. The rest of it was great however.we got dessert which was fantastic.(Root beer float and creme bruele) some of the best I've ever had. So possibly skip the steak for something else.
Pleasant, agreeable atmosphere and it smells really good. The food? Personally, I'm not a salad fan, but that Caesar salad was deliciously crispy, fresh, and tangy. I was a bit disappointed by the steak I ordered; it was dry and charred on the outside, although the mashed potatoes that came with were creamy and still tasted like potatoes. Not many nonalcoholic beverages other than water and a few beers. All in all, the meal was rather scrumptious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and mood was absolutely welcoming. Definitely must try if around.
