Generally speaking, the level of incompetence is truly staggering here. Top down and bottom up, no one is immune. If you ever find yourself here my advice to you is to ask lots of questions and trust your gut. If something does not make sense then question it. It could save you or your loved one a lot of grief. I understand this advice could be applied to all hospitals. I truly believe, however, that this hospital is unique and greater caution and scrutiny is warranted. Just my honest opinion.

My experiences here have been very positive. In the ER they all were very attentive. Referred me to a great surgeon and primary care physician. I had surgery and was well taken care of. Parking not the greatest but it's well worth the trouble. 💯

My experience at Beaumont Oakwood Dearborn has been fabulous. I have been to the hospital twice in the last 3 months for my dad who suffered a stroke and had to have surgery. The doctors, nurses, and aids of 3rd floor North were professional, competent, caring and attentive. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication.

You’re better off dead than ending up in the “Short Stay Unit”.

Put in a room with no air, paging nurses multiple times for anything, no consistency. Everything is in limbo, and lost in translation. No staff knows what is going on at any point with any of the patients.

Once shift change rolls around- you might as well say forget it and do everything for the nurses. They act as if it’s their first day on the floor out on their own. Clueless.

What an embarrassment this has been. You guys should be shut down for how poorly organized, and understaffed you are.

Thanks for the most unorganized and disrespectful 2 days in the hospital any one could ask for.

The absolute worst hospital! Don’t go there even if you’re truly dying! Nurses don’t come check on you, try speaking to supervisor and she says we have many sick patients that’s why your nurse hasn’t came and checked on you for the past 4 hours? I don’t even know how this place is still open and running? Very rude unprofessional staff! I will not even recommend my worst enemy to be admitted into a trash of a hospital! What a shame! Absolute shame! You’re taught in the medical world to be compassionate and actually check up on people not just decide to disappear for 4 hours on a patient. Then what’s the point of them being in the hospital? Disgusting. Had a horrible experience 4 years ago with my mother being admitted here and thought it would be better this time around and it has become only a joke!

Wish I could give this place negative stars. By far the WORST hospital ever! Unfortunately, living downriver this is usually the go to hospital for emergencies and other than location, I am not sure why. When I was caring for my 94 year old aunt, EMS took her here, she came home more sick than she went and kept complaining that something was hurting her arm. When I took off her coat and sweater, an entire IV was left in her arm bleeding from the tube! When my grandfather recently went in experiencing severe pain and almost in a seizure from pain, they left him sitting in the lobby for 8 hours. They then said his gallbladder needed to be removed but was inflamed and said he had to be on antibiotics for 24 hours before they could remove it. We came to the hospital to find that they left him laying in the bed and failed to give him any antibiotics so it became septic and surgeon told us that the infection was so bad that his gallbladder was falling apart as they removed it. What should have been a fairly easy surgery and problem to fix, turned into him almost losing his life, living through unbearable pain due to their negligence which was admitted by nurses, drs and surgeons. Try calling to make an appointment, you can hardly ever get through, if you do get someone on the phone they are almost always rude or careless. Terrible just terrible.

Oakwood hospital was way better, the place is dirty and they make you wait forever and not communication at all. Go somewhere else if you value your time. While waiting this guy walk in dripping blood all over it took them over an hour to get him in, this just make me sick of my stomach

The worst hospital on earth not only on American.
How could u have someone wait 8 hours for blood work.
And the results =nothing.
Am glad I got nothing but I have waisted my time for nothing.
Tell me nothing the moment results comes back not the next morning

It was the best hospital ever. Nice food. And nice service. Just visited my uncle today and a musician came and sung too us. Amazing.

I can't believe this place. 4 and a half hours waiting in the ER and I still hadn't been seen. And even at that point when I asked if I would be seen anytime soon they said definitely not. I cut my losses and left. I will never come back here again. Go to Henry Ford instead. Go anywhere else. Not my first bad experience here. One of many over the course of several years.

I am giving 1 star because if you don't select at least 1 you cannot post. Please consider there to be a negative sign in front of the star. I took my 95 year old mother down to Oakwood Beaumont on the advice of her physician. She needed treatment for a urinary tract infection that required i.v. Sometime Tuesday afternoon physician assistant Haley Currie injected my mom against her will with Haldol. She has been comatose ever since. She is now at Henry Ford and I question the capabilities of this young lady. She should not be treating people; she makes snap judgments and causes harm to others.

Staff are very rude and when I asked for a patient rights pamphlet I was told they don't have those, after reading patient rights on their website and showing staff they disregarded any rights. May be following up with an attorney. My daughter is in ER right now, nurses uneducated on patient rights and very unprofessional.. never bring anyone here with mental disorders .. also they are badmouthing another patient around us.. calling attorney first thing in morning. They treat you as if you don't have choices when I know we do and that makes them more upset and they treat you worse. The ER nurses should be ashamed of the way they act especially when I'm done writing to everyone I possibly can think of to help correct this problem so they stop treating people this way. As I sit here and watch how disrespectful they are to family of patient and moreso the patients. So to update, I spoke with the nurses supervisor and I'm guessing my daughters nurse is very angry because she came into the room just now while I was visiting my daughter and I was taking pictures of her busted up nose and she " tried" to get security to throw me out, I told her her attorney wants me to get pics of her face and nose and she said the nurse earlier told me no pictures,funny because this is the first time taking them,she then "tried " telling me to delete them or I will be thrown out.. well security came and I told him what I was doing and said okay and left.. so the nurses think they can bully people when they know their rights.. I will call her supervisor again over that and the attorney.

The staff was polite, service was prompt, professional, and promising. The doctor and nursing staff was confident and comforting with their knowledge while explaining each and every step or detail. My child had been to another facility 3 days prior and they'd misdiagnosed her. However, in no time at all (2 hours) test were ran, X-rays were taken and we were on our way home. Thank you so so so much as this experience was one of the best and I work in the medical field myself.

I have always had good service at this hospital. To all the haters, well, you must understand that you are not the only ones to be cared for. Hospitals have staffed each unit according to how much staff they have. Sometimes units work short and with most patients who "Want It Now" don't get the concept being patient. Yes it takes a long time to get what you want but to get what you need takes even longer. A hospital is not a place where you go and think you can rush people and not to mention being rude to the staff (none of the ones who gave bad reviews mentioned that). Most complainers are the ones who's drugs were cut off or shouldn't have been at the hospital in the first place. Health care is serious often times stressful business. All I really want to say is try being a little more patient and understanding. It's probably not much fun when a whole lot of people are yelling at you for different things. You wouldn't like it so do it to others. Love you all.
