Amazing place to visit, beautiful structures, buildings and sceneries.
Great views, cool stuff.
Painted by Robert Walter Weir (1803-1889). This image portrays the beauty of the Hudson, as well as why West Point is where it is. The River narrows here where the spine of Appalachian Mountains passes through the valley, and the heights provide a single location where cannon can control the passage of all watercraft below. The habitable Valley extends to the far horizon, promising much that needs protecting.
You can't miss this spot. Good scene and good view.
It's a beautifully thing to see and the history
This area has some of the best views of the Hudson available. The point where the river turns in two, 90 degree angles is known as "World's End" and is the deepest point of the river. There is a ton of American Revolutionary history around that point, so read the plaques and ask a cadet to tell you about it!
Great!
