If no one from management reads this I will be disappointed. Please hire friendly & sociable bartenders. They are TERRIBLE and by they I mean ALL. The only & I mean only one who smiled and offered info. was Kyle. The rest we (and other patrons) had to inquire if we could place an order whether it be drinks or food. You could have a rockin establishment if the bartenders would do their jobs which includes socializing.

Let's get the food out of the way: it was great. Asian inspired calamari and a cup of curry soup is all I had, because the beer.oh, the beer.

Farmhouse Saison was a perfect representation of that genre. My companion's dry hopped JP beer had the perfect balance of funkiness to make it work perfectly.

Go eat and drink here. They still have the Bastone beers as well as JP and North Peak - they'll be brewing those in house soon too - and some menu items from Bastone and Monk. As well as a more diverse JP menu.

We just recently had a retirement party of 30 plus people here. I would not recommend having this size of a party here. First, the service was very poor. We only had one server at a time for the entire party. Second, we had to be sitting down at a table to order. Have you ever been in a social event in a bar or pub where everyone is sitting down!!! Third, having only one server at a time it took awhile to order and our food took a long time to be served. Lastly, at the end of the night they cut the entire party off of alcohol. We were not loud or making any scene at all. Because a few people in our party have had a few shots the entire party was cut off. I gave this a star since the food was good.
Definitely will not recommend this place.

The dry perch on the mound of dry fries was $23.00. This does no justice to good jolly pumpkin locations. No sauce for any of it. Cost for 3 people was 75 bucks before tip, I can get better food at Wendy's. . insanely disappointed. I'll still frequent their spots in Ann Arbor and Old Mission.

Decent spot to hang out, but nothing special. Beer is fine. Pizza was lacking flavour. They've brightened up the main level a lot since taking over from Bastone, which I like. The basement is a dance club on weekend nights, and it's pretty fun - definitely my favourite part of this spot.

Great service, good food. Beers we're on the mild side as far as flavor but not in a bad way. I liked everything I ordered. Nice atmosphere and good mix of new rock and indie/ pop music playing. I would definitely come back to this place.

Great new location to an awesome franchise. This location. Though very convenient is somewhat difficult to find from the road. The overall service was good and the truffle fries were good but a bit oversalted. Will.have to try the pizza next time. The downtown Detroit location has a diff feel but I think the Royal oak location will earn it's own keep.

Came on Mother's Day, was called the day prior to confirm reservation because they were going to be "booked solid" and wanted to make sure we were going to show up. The restaurant wound up being about half dead during our meal. It took over an hour to get our food which was mainly salads and hamburgers for a small party. The food was delicious, the service was just terrible. When we finally asked about our food, we were told it was ready and would be right out but it wound up being about another 15 minutes before it was actually served to us. Unfortunate because we all enjoyed our meals but we will not be returning.

If I could give this brewery less than one star, I totally would. The beer is straight up awful..I was only able to finish one beer in my 8 glass flight. The head brewer should be ashamed of himself for allowing such a sub standard product to not only be produced but allowing it to be sold is downright criminal. He probably couldn't brew a good coke out of a soda fountain machine. And guess what, the beer cheese with the pretzels tasted like the smell that comes out of the sewers in Detroit. If you want a real beer in the Royal Oak area, I would suggest going to the Royal Oak brewery or to River Rouge brewing instead. I would rather drink the swill prisoners make in their toilets over this crap EVER again.

Was there last night and we are not happy. We are somewhat regulars but not since The first of the year. The menu change, and the change in the food prep may cause us to stop showing up. I loved the way you used to make the pork cheek burgers ! It is not the same at allbut yet the price is. The portabello mushroom sandwich NOT THE SAME as before.

Waiter told us that the changes are heading in a Americana style.if I wanted that there are plenty of that style of restaurants. WE ENJOYED THE BELGIAN STYLE !! This is what kept us coming back.

I made a reservation here for our co-ed bachelorette/bachelor party for 15 people. The night of the event we all arrived and were told there was no reservation on file. The hostess didn't write it down apparently. After confirming they lost our reservation they would do NOTHING to accommodate us. The manager said we would probably have to wait 2+ hrs for enough tables to open up. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Luckily my friends were able to get a table at a much better restaurant after the manager here had me in tears. Also the beer here is horrible and they are more interested in hiring tits than brains but what else is new. Will never step foot in this place again. Thanks for TRYING to ruin a great night!
