Just delicious. Great choices for our vegan son and everyone else. Service could have been a little quicker but great on the whole.

Good Thai food, torn between 3 and 4 stars. Not great, not memorable but not dissatisfied or disappointed. Tasty, good portions. Crowded, but I am told it always is.

Fantastic. Went for the basics; the Basil Cocktail, Pad Thai and scoop of Coconut Ice Cream. Even the rice; everything was thoroughly delicious from start to finish.

The Tom Kai Gai is the BEST thing I've ever tasted. I highly recommend this place. We come for dinner everytime we visit!

Awesome food, cocktails, and atmosphere. Wait staff was very helpful in making our selections. All of the dishes can be made vegetarian if you get it with tofu!

Always fresh and reliable. Sit at the chef's counter if you want to watch the action take place. It's actually pretty impressive how well everyone works together to get the job done. They don't even have to speak to one another. It's like they read each others' minds! Dinner menu is a little more pricey than lunch.

Food is great. Service is not great. It's like they expect you to know thai food and culture before you arrive. I just want to ask a couple questions, order, eat, pay, leave. No where in that agenda is being talked down to when I ask a question about the menu. Sorry wait staff, thought that I could enjoy a meal without drama. We stopped eating here as it just gets old with the attitude and so you stop ordering new things.

I was in town for my great aunt's funeral and this place was apparently one of her favorites. With my family - a party of 12 you really can't have high expectations of service. But WOW Basil- you BLEW MY SOCKS OFF!!!! The food was amazing I had the coconut mushroom soup and I was in AWE. SOOOOOOOOOO goodd I had 3 cups I swear. The waiter was very attentive and kept our drinks flowing the busser was constantly refilling and clearing us all. The food took awhile as it always does with 12 people. BOY WAS IT WORTH THAT WAIT. I have had a lot of Asian food and worked in a restaurant that made Thai food. NOTHING compared to the ginger chicken I got that day. I ate the WHOLE plate- I have never done that with the proportions they give you at Thai places but this chicken was so so so good and the veggies were so fresh. I wish I could even put into words how INCREDIBLE this ginger chicken was. I was entranced by it's deliciousness. I recommend Basil to anyone who wants to taste the best Thai food ever in my opinion or to anyone who has never tried Thai food come here!! Also the drinks were fantastic! I recommend the pineapple (might have been mango?) mimosa either way it was just right not too strong just enough flavor. GO TO BASIL is all I can say in this review TASTE THIS FOOD!!

I have been to Thailand twice. Food is amazing. Basil is the closest thing i can find to real Thai food in the Charleston area. It's fresh, and usually fast. It's a little loud and has a fast paced feel, but great drinks and reasonably priced.

Clearly the best Thai food around town. Killer curries, pad thai and the three flavor fish is a must try! I had never tried duck previously and they do it right! Deep fried and then covered in either red curry or a basil sauce. Go here. You won't regret it
