Very expensive and some of the teachers are not that friendly/stuck up in the general education courses
It depends on the program. The health sciences are the toughest, but for a reason; nursing students told me they all received a solid education, that gave them a level of education, very much superior to the level of other nursing programs. I hope I will have a similar experience once I finish my program. The campus is absolutely beautiful. Serene and peaceful, great and beautifully restored art deco architecture, surrounded by stunning local vegetation. Some corners of various buildings demonstrate the original campus feel from the days it was built, but restored and updated to the standards of tomorrow. So far, though one of my professors was extremely tough, it has been a wonderful experience.(can not comment on housing; I live off campus)
I never had a chance to visit barry university before enrolling and I wound up not liking the area. The area outside of it is very ghetto and the dorms are smaller than what is shown on the layout online. I didn't feel safe in the general area so I withdrew from the university during the grace period where I should've gotten a 100% refund on classes and an 80% refund on housing. It's been almost two months since I signed and dated the form where I only agreed on paying 20% for housing and 0% for classes. I had not gone to any classes and now I am moved out and enrolled in a different college. I am still being given hell on this process where they were only responsible for calculating the 20% on housing that I owed and signing a withdrawal form. It's taken them two months to do these simple tasks that should've been made a priority and I was told it would be. I am now being billed for $7,050 for classes. For what classes? I hadn't gone to any and withdrew during the grace period. I have copies of my withdrawal form stating what I signed for and printed copies of the official website stating the corresponding dates and percentages for refunds and billing. They are now either going to resolve this issue right away or I will be in the process of sueing the university. This is ridiculous. The only person I can say actually had done their job was my academic advisor who also agreed that this process has been a ridiculous money scam.
This place is very clean, quiet and the scenery is amazing.
One of the best schools in FL, thank you Barry for the knowledge that I learned when taking my MBA
Nice place to watch baseball softball
WORST SCHOOL EVER. Do not waste your money!! Advisors are terrible. Financial aid is terrible. Housing is terrible. You pay so much money to go to a school that is so cheap!
Very expensive and some of the teachers are not that friendly in the general education courses
This university has several programs designed for the adult learner, and it has a solid accreditation status.
I had the BEST Advisors!: Dr. Robert Farmer & Dr. Gerri Bohning! I was allowed to take my Education Courses at FAU and Transfer my credits to Barry. I doubled Majored, Social Work & Education. I completed my 4 year degree in 2 years and 10 months!! Graduated (1995)! I was then, first a full time mother raising 4 children, a full time wife, a full time employee and a full time student. If I could do it, anyone can!!! I also made the National Dean's List!
>Very good for students with full time job.
>Very flexible class schedules.
> Great student to teacher ratio.
> Awesome, experienced instructors!
