I've only ever visited in the evenings, but there's still plenty of traffic in & out. A great cozy place to meet up with friends & grab a beverage - not just your typical coffees and espressos, but also wines, italian sodas, & more. A delightful visit, and I hope it won't be so long before my next.
The light and dark roast coffee here is very good! I love their atmosphere: a two-story seating area with a double-tall ceiling above the bar and first-floor ceiling. There are a good number of outlets to power your machines, and it's not the best place for group conversations or hangouts. I'd recommend more for a solo visit.
Lovely little coffee shop. I like the photographs of historic Wisconsin on the walls. I usually get coffee, but a beer from their four taps will occasionally catch my eye.
Great baristas and I love the little egg & cheese breakfast sandwiches for a quick lunch! Also, wiiiine? Coffee and wiiiine? Sweet!
I used to think highly of barriques 5/6 years ago but it's really gone downhill. The ambience really is attractive but other than that there isn't really much to offer unless you are there to by a item that is sealed or bottled.
To name a few things; customer service severely lacks, there is extremely slow service, bakery items seem to be dry, stale, or covered in some kind of grossly sweetened goo, mediocre food items are over priced, and the place is just dirty all over(dust, flies, sticky tables). I've tried giving different locations a try over and over again thinking maybe it was just a bad day there, maybe it was the person at the counter that day, but no every time just one disappointment after another. I think I'm finally done with giving this place any more tries and will move on to the next best competitor. At this point it shouldn't be hard to find a better place.
Very nice coffee place, the baristas are friendly and efficient. Also it's a good place to study as it is quiet.
Barriques is a perfect coffee shop to get a delicious drink with a good atmosphere. I've spent countless hours working here and have always enjoyed it. With a nice outdoor seating area for the warmer months, and a more private upstairs when you want a quieter place, you can't go wrong.
Good coffee and a great place to sit and work. Lots of tables with a good atmosphere.
Food is good. Coffee is so-so (and may come with heavy grounds). Noise level is high (vs., say, Michelangelo's), but when I used to work at a very quiet office around the corner, that was sometimes a good thing (for a change of pace).
Every time I've ever gone to Barriques, I've ordered the same sandwich. I can't remember what it is called, but it has mayonnaise, avocado, bacon, and turkey. It is so ridiculously amazing. They cook it to order, but it's always out super quickly. You get a bag of chips with the sandwich. I recommend the Voodoo chips. They have tons of spice and are awesome. I normally just buy a soda to go with my sandwich because I don't drink coffee. My husband frequently buys coffee from Barriques, though, and genuinely enjoys it.
Could have a better flow. Wasn't really sure where to go. Everyone who was waiting for their food was standing where the line looked like it should have been. But! the sandwich I got, soup and coffee was really good! I am in town for the week and found myself a lunch place.
Wonderful little cafe/coffee shop with some really good coffee. Great atmosphere with lots of little quiet spots to sit up on the balcony areas.
