Pretty tasty food. Well balance of flavors. I have been couple times here and definitively I will come back.

Ordered takeout from here, found the food to be hot and fresh, intelligently packaged and very flavorful. Medium spicy was spicy but not enough to make my eyes water (but spice is very subjective). Service was fast and courteous. Definitely would order again if I get the chance!

First time here and didn't know what to expect. Food temp was great and the taste was even better! Staff cleared the tables fast and we're very courteous. The Naan is amazing! I would definitely recommend this place!

Swagat is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Madison! It's a home away from home with tasty and a variety on foods flavored with a plethora of spices that leave a mouthwatering appetite behind for some more. With foods ranging from South Indian to North Indian, I’m left with an aroma that takes me back home.

If you're in Madison this place is a must. Fantastic service, delicious food and an amazing environment to dine in! I've eaten Indian food all over the world and this place is up there with some of the best!

Excellent food, owner Vijay very receptive
and warm to guests. We needed our food cooked a certain way without onion and garlic and they went above and beyond to make that happen. Best Indian restaurant in Madison and would recommend to all!response / report this review -

I used to come here often but today will be my last time. My friend and I arrived at 2:15 for the lunch buffet. Around 2:50 we are given a lecture by the waiter that the buffet is ending and we have to grab dessert, then a minute later the manager comes by and demands payment, he assured us there wasn't a rush. 3:05 rolls around, we are about to leave and the manager gives us a lecture because we are being inconsiderate for staying past three. Actually he was flat out rude. I'm sorry but if your intent is to clear the place at three maybe you should stop serving food much earlier. The quality of food has also been going down as of recent, the goat curry had obviously been reheated the past few days. With other options like Om(my new favorites), Maharani, and Maharani, there's no need to go here anymore. My friend and I were very polite with the staff, if they're going to charge a fortune for sub par food they should at least be a bit more hospitable and polite in return.

Came late to lunch buffet so we had to order to go. While we waited they presented us with a free mango lassie, and said I could fill a to go container with a few things from the buffet before they closed down. When we got our food we sat outside and ate it as they were closing. They brought us a pitcher of water and some cups and apologized that we weren't able to eat the buffet inside. The food was amazing and the service absolutely wonderful. Thank you all! We will definitely be back, and with plenty if time to enjoy the full sevice buffet.

We've been going here for years. Absolutely the best servers and the food is high quality. We LOVE this place. I even go there with 4 kids and they don't bat an eye at us---instead they smile and high 5 the kids. I can't say enough praise for this place.

L"Etoile is the best restaurant in Madison and a wonderful place to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary. The restaurant is lovely with huge open windows looking out on the capitol which is lit at night. The food is excellent and creative. You do pay for the quality but it is wonderful. Great wine list though it too is expensive.

Perfectly seasoned curries! The wait staff was polite and prompt. Great atmosphere for small group dining. I also appreciated the hot hand towel at the end of my meal.

Went for lunch buffet on a Saturday afternoon and it was great! Never had such good service at a buffet, and the variety of food was wonderful. It was nice to be able to try so many things, especially for my husband, who is veryparticular about his food, and unfamiliar with Indian food in general. To be able to see the food and choose from so many options was invaluable. Not to mention how tasty most of the dishes were. Some things were too spicy for me, but I enjoy being challenged, and the food itself was good. And I didn't get to try everything I wanted, even though I had two whole platefuls (and dessert!). There were LOTS of vegetarian options, which is the most wonderful part of Indian food ☺️ When we first arrived and got our food, most things were room temperature/cold even. But we didn't know any better so we got it anyway. But by the time we were getting our seconds, everything has been replenished, and the hot food was much, much better (obviously). So next time we go, we'll know to make sure things are hot before we get food. Maybe after we come back for lunch again we'll know enough of our favorites to come back and try dinner.
