My friend needs life support and this hospital is basically forcing his mother to give up on her son. This hospital is doing everything the wrong way. To me it seems like life isn’t a concern in this hospital help make a change people. She needs a attorney to protest the hospital cuz they want to pull the life support plug without consent from his mother, and if anyone responds to this from that hospital you need to not just respond with your email and name and actually make a change! With your actions, you shouldn’t be doing this just for a paycheck you should be doing it to save people
Never, I repeat, NEVER come here. Do yourself a favor, find a Dignity Health center, or anywhere else. This was the absolute worse experience I've had at an ER.
I visited last week due to a kidney stone. I walked in obviously experiencing very excruciating pain, like I could barely talk because I couldn't focus on anything but the pain. I felt bad because I limped over to reception, sat down and couldn't get back up. I told them I had a kidney stone earlier this year, and because the pain was so localized pain and dull like last time, I knew what it was.
In the 30 minutes I sat waiting, I puked several times, almost passed out, and could barely keep my head up. I then told him to "forget it," and that I'd find a hospital to treat me and that I'd call back later asking to speak with a supervisor about this. Immediately he responded by asking me for my info, my insurance, etc. then 15 minutes later, he later asked someone over the radio to clean a room.
Then it gets worse!!! I go back to a room in a wheelchair, and the nurse helping me came in to check my vitals, and then just left me there for 30 minutes. She finally comes back in and gives me a small dose of medicine for my pain; unfortunately it wasn't enough. I told her it helped but only a bit, she said give it time and it'll help. 15 minutes go by and I'm still in pain, she tells me the doctor will prescribe something when she had a moment.
I then get taken back for a CT scan which confirmed I did in fact have a stone blocking my ureter. I went back to the room and FINALLY met this mysterious doctor. She told me I had a kidney stone, so I asked her for help with the pain, and she told me the nurse would be back to help. Once the nurse came back, I asked her for help, and she refused. I asked why, and she said I needed to give her a urine sample. I asked her why she didn't make me do that as soon as I walked in, and she said "it wasn't necessary," but now she "needed to see what was happening" even though everyone confirmed it was a kidney stone.
I didn't realize until later that this nurse totally treated me like a drug addict. I sat in pain for hours waiting on her because she didn't feel my pain was legitimate.
If you can go to any other emergency room, PLEASE do so! I came here with extreme pain on my right side thinking it was my appendix. I laid in a bed for FIVE hours before I was taken to get any testing done, and by hour seven I had to demand to see a doctor. The lack of attention in that place was just mind boggling. Joe, my ER nurse, was fantastic and really stayed on top of things. However, everyone else couldn't be bothered. They also had people sick with the flu lining the hallways which is pretty disgusting. I took a shower as soon as I got home because I just felt so gross from being there.
Update:
I emailed Dawn, and have never received any emails back.
The food here sucks ass. The best thing I’ve eaten here is cereal. That’s sad. But the care is pretty good. I wish y’all could get people in the kitchen that knew how to cook good food & not burn most of it. Y’all need Chef Ramsey. Honestly I wouldn’t mind the fact that had to stay if the food was better. I literally lose so much weight being here because every I tried is not good at all & has no seasonings. Trust I’ve been admitted to other hospitals & the food was really good. Especially when I was at UofM hospital in Michigan.
My father passed away at this hospital, and I never understood why until now. It is because there are individuals such as PA Heather Leanne Freeman who do their job for a paycheck, instead of actually caring for her patients and creating a health care plan to improve her patients health. I left work early Wed. October 11, 2017 and went straight to the hospital for shoulder pain. I described my symptoms to her letting her know that my right arm is numb, I have tingling in my fingertips and I was having pain on my scapula and shoulder. I brought a sling to help support my arm because it was tired and she asked me to take it off so she can look at it. I tried to raise my right arm and started crying because I couldn't lift it past my shoulder and it was painful and she walked out of the room. She NEVER offered any ice pack to help with the inflammation. I told her it could be a rotatory cuff tear and she then orders an X-RAY. While we waited for the results, still in a lot of pain, she walks in the room and tells me that the database shows I had surgery on my right shoulder which was FALSE and I told her that as well. She then says "Hmmmm yeah it shows you did." I told her i have never had surgery on my right shoulder and told her to look for herself and she refused and leaves the room again. About 10 minutes later she comes back in the room and says that the database is also showing that I already had an MRI on my shoulder and at this point I was frustrated because instead of helping me, she continued to come in and make false accusations. I once again told her I have never had an MRI on my right shoulder. I advised her I have only had one of the Cervical Spine, and she then states "No it says your shoulder." Which indicates to me that she is calling me a liar at this point. I said "Look, I do not like to waste money coming into the emergency room for no reason, I am here because the pain is getting worse and I need help." She leaves the room AGAIN, comes back in moments later with my X-ray results. Heather Freeman tells me that the X-ray shows I am fine and discharges me. Of course the X-ray will come back fine if I am complaining about a possible Rotatory cuff tear. This was the worst experience of my life, Heather Leanne Freeman needs to have her license revoked and an investigation open on her health care. I am going as high as I can with this complaint until SOMETHING is done about this so called ''PA" Heather Leanne Freeman. There are probably many patients out there that have been seen by her and have experienced the same thing and it needs to stop. I left the hospital in more pain then I was in when I arrived.
Wow nurses and doctors are very nice. I jumped the gun and had to realize that my patience needs work. After talking to the doctor. I realize I need more patience
I broke my hand and had insurance and thought I could save some money by just coming here, wrong! I was there for 3 hours, mostly waiting, and paid the balance at time of visit which was just over 500 dollars. Yet I received another bill for over a thousand dollars weeks later in the mail. Now, on to what they did.
I broke my fifth metacarpal in my right hand and was treated by a PA in the hallway of the hospital. I received a local anesthetic and the PA manipulated the bone to attempt to straighten it. This is not typically how you treat a metacarpal fracture. It can't be stabilized this way. After he did that, my hand was bandaged and I was sent home and received a referral to a specialist.
I found my own specialist a week later and showed him the x-ray that the hospital took of the injury. Their office took their own x-ray. The x-rays looked almost identical. I still had over 70 percent angulation in my metacarpal. From what I've read, up to a 60 percent degree of angulation is acceptable for fifth metacarpals.
Banner did absolutely nothing for me, except make me endure some pain while manipulating my broken hand and rob me of 1500 dollars. They also prolonged my healing. I should have gone to the specialist right from the beginning. The specialist used a k-wire fixation and my hand healed well. Their bill was also cheaper than Banner's and they actually performed surgery to fix my hand, not to mention all of the office visits.
Thank you, Banner, for absolutely nothing.
The nurses, doctors were wonderful and I feel sorry they have to work for such a crooked company. Worst bill service EVER! No call backs, no follow up, totally RUDE accounts receivable team. I've left 4 messages with Leonard who I was told is the only one who can help me with the mistakes THEY made. I was put into collections because they miss allocated my payment to an account that was under dispute with my insurance company (after my ins company called them to notify them of the dispute). The dispute was due to a miss quote. I was charged 6 times what the hospital had quoted me on my daughters birth. My insurance company said I was totally taken advantage of by Banner Desert hospital. Unbelievable. I will never step foot in any Banner again.

The nurses, doctors, and staff tending to my newborn and myself were great. Just fabulous! However, when it came time to pay my co-pay before discharge that is when things went a bit sour. Weeks before giving birth and coming in I received estimate of charges that will be due. Phoned to be sure the information was correct. Delivery and hospital stay was as smooth as can be. Stayed one night only. The billing lady came in with a totally different bill, stated she didn't know what estimate I was speaking of, no idea what I was talking about. I paid my deductible, no receipt, no explaination of charges. Called for a detailed receipt to file, hospital sent an email with just how much I paid, called back for receipt with services and date of service, will take 10 days because it has to go through US mail only. Checked my insurance account, states I owed MUCH LESS than the hospital was trying to collect!
Rudest OB registration lady I have ever encountered. I have never felt so put off or unwelcome at a facility. This is my 3rd child and I will not be having my baby here. We came in for decrease in kick counts and took 2 hours to be seen. Thank god I was not going into delivery. Please go to another hospital! Don't come here
Good job profiling my daughter as a drug seeker when she came in to figure out the source of her excruciating pain, telling her nothing was wrong after only checking her heart (she's only 23), and sending her home with a Rx for tramadol. Luckily, the doctors, nurses, and ultra sound tech at Dignity have their sh*t together and knew instantly it was her gallbladder. After a few tests and an ultra sound to confirm, she was scheduled for surgery and the competent doctors at another facility took care of her.
My husband has been sitting in the er since last night. He has not eating g anything. We paged his nurse over and hour ago and still no one has come. I know the hospital is busy but shouldn't neglect patients at the same time. I'm ready to pull him out and go to a new hospital this is crazy.
I would like to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation to all of the nurses, lactation consultants, and doctors who walked into room 121 B of postpartum in the maternity ward from 2/28/2017 to 3/2/2017.Also, thank you Dr. Gottfried for delivering our baby girl and for being with us throughout pregnancy. Thank you Lauren, Monica, Brooke, and Eka for the round the clock care. To the nurse with the Buddy Holly glasses and short hair please forgive me for forgetting your name, but thank you too! Thank you to the pediatrician and lactation consultants who encouraged my wife when she was emotional and having trouble with breastfeeding. Also, for showing me how I could help my wife breastfeed. All of you made us feel like we were being tended to by family. The work ethic and care you provided was of the highest regard. Thank you!

I'm a retired physician who worked at Banner Desert for over 20 years, although I haven't been back for the last fifteen. I was never employed by Samaritan, but perhaps my history helped get better care. I got top-notch attention during the 24 hour stay for atrial fibrillation. My first floor nurse, Ena, could not have been nicer, even though her shift was overnight. Aside from the ER screening nurse, everyone tried their best to comfort me, including the technical staff. Being able to order an excellent tuna melt sandwich from a restaurant-like menu anytime I wanted was an unexpected luxury.
