Food was good, service very average. Shocked at "3% surcharge added due to increase in costs" are you kidding me? if you need to charge more raise the price of your dishes don't insult our intelligence with a 3% fee at the end, you are a restaurant not a bank!

Great San Diego spot! Perfect for sunset and moonrise over this fine city. The food, service, and gentle atmosphere where conversation is possible makes for an outstanding experience! And they take reservations, get the window seat of your choice.

I have been the DJ for many weddings & parties at the Bali Hai, including yesterday's amazing wedding. We also rented it out for my wife's birthday party. We have always had a great time here. The food is great and the views are amazing!

Its a beautiful place to have lunch. The scenery is awsome. The food was okay not much of a choice for lunch . But you really don't want to eat a lot of food at lunchtime. Or should you.?

Great restaurant for events. Came here for a friends wedding and the weather was perfect. Slight cool breeze and calm water. Beautiful scenery and great location.

Very nice views and drinks. My dinner was Korean chicken and my relative had orange lobster. Both were just ok. My sons got bass and salmon and they loved theirs. Waiter was very good. Most entrees were $20-$30 and sides were additional. Thought menu options were limited. Overall nice place but limited menu choices.

Authentic Hawaii feel, for sure. Awesome view, decor and ambience. Good service. Fun cocktails. I'd like to give them 5 stars except that the food and drinks weren't quite as good as they should have been. I would rate the food and drinks maybe 3.5 stars and everything else 5 stars.

Went here to eat for a place with a great view & was surprised by the great food. I got the spring chopped salad with shrimp skewers. So delicous & filling! A big, zesty salad that was satisfying yet still light. I'm not a salad person, but this was a great salad. Relaxed vibe, and our waitress was perfect. Courteous & doing her job, but not in your face or trying to be your "buddy". And the prices were reasonable. Not super cheap, but average prices for above average food.

Nothing makes you feel like your in Hawaii until you go to Bali Hai. The Bay View is 2 thumbs up and the food is amazing. I purposed to my wife below on the bay and had dinner before purposing. They went above and beyond to make sure we got the best seat in the house that night as they new I was purposing. The staff is super friendly and the owner is super nice as well. I have been going to Bali Hai since 2005. This place is a must go to when you go to Shelter Island.

Very disappointed in the lunch food. We came here for my mother's 96th birthday celebration. My sister and I had the prime rib sandwich. No condiments on the sandwich at all including the scallions and cabbage that were suppose to come on the sandwich. We had to ask for some mayonnaise because it was so dry. My mother and daughter had the smoke turkey club which was also very dry. Nothing was really tasty and a big letdown for my mother's birthday.

AWESOME RESTAURANT
my husband and I were on our honeymoon and decided to go to a nice dinner.
The Mai Tai and other cocktails fit the vibe and are delicious.
The sampler appetizer was rocking!
We got the lamb pad Thai and the steak- so good!
Service was fantastic- they gave us a delicious dessert for our honeymoon for free!
Our server Cordell was awesome!
Overall the views and ambiance, good service, good value, and awesome food make this a great place to visit.response / report this review -

We had my daughters first birthday luau there. The staff was some of the nicest and most helpful I have ever had to deal with. From the catering sales lady to the set up people they were all very good. The food was fantastic and they did a great job creating an Island style menu that my family who are all from hawaii really loved. The view is amazing but the only thing I would change is the Mai Tai. It is pure alcohol! overall great place I highly recommend.

AMAZING VIEWS + TASTY DRINKS (& FOOD)
I haven't been on a date it a whilebut this will be the first spot I go out to!
2nd story offers an intimate setting with the San Diego Bay and at night the city shows off her gorgeous skyline when she puts on her lights.

Very, very loud. I couldn't hear the waiter or the people at my own table. The food was ok. It was much better in the past. The view is wonderful IF you can get a table by the window. This is a big IF. I made a reservation and requested a window table and was still seated in the middle of the room. This happened on more than one occasion.
