Don't stay here. What I'm about to say is sadly in no way an exaggeration; Hotel has okay installations, looks friendly and is cheap but I can assure you it is far from heaven. Homeless people stay on the hostel, I got offered weed and crack (yes crack) on my first 15 minutes, I left my backpack on the lockers where it got stolen with my passport and everything in it. Talking with the police they told me they come here every week, they even told me they once raped a girl in there and just moments after this guy comes to us and told the officers his car got stolen. Trust me on this one those 20 bucks are not worth it, get away from this place.

Ok so when you walk in it looks fun and festive. You get to the room that looks like something from a seventys place with the decor carpet on the wall. They have bed bugs and refuse to give you a refund. I arrived at four left at eleven pm oh no found a bedbug!!!😱😰😵😤😠 Food there is bad the drinks are decent. I guess the patrons have to drink so they won't feel the bites!😠 Never again don't stay there!

They need to get rid of all the bums hanging out and smoking weed. Can't enjoy sitting outside without being bothered. Had my car broken into and someone slept inside and spilled beer on seat and mats

I booked this hostel in a last minute panic after some plans fell through, and was more than a little nervous due to the negative reviews. Frankly, you're getting what you pay for. It is cheap and close to LAX, with a pharmacy, convenience store, gas station and fast food all within walking distance. It isn't incredible, but it isn't awful.
Just about everyone I spoke to was just another friendly traveler looking to save a few bucks. If you're a lonely solo traveler (like I was) just sit by the pool and try to look friendly. You'll make some friends quickly.
The front desk staff were a little unenthusiastic and one even forgot to give me my room key when checking me in, but it was easily fixed by popping back in a minute later.
The area is a bit dodgy and as a very short, petite female I wouldn't have felt safe going out at night so I just made sure to get my shopping and outings done during the day.
But I did enjoy staying here. Overall, just know that you're paying for a cheap place to sleep. Not everything is going to be perfect and if you're wanting something nicer, perhaps cough up a little extra for a nicer place to stay.

Bed bugs and theft. There is no security on the property, so people who are not paying customers can come and go as they please. No one stole my belongings but others weren't so fortunate. I kept seeing the police constantly here. You have been warned.

Dodgey as it gets. Car was broken into overnight. Drug dealers trying to sell to us in the carpark. Someone was even held up at knifepoint just outside the bar. And best of all jumbo jets screaming overhead day and night as they come into land at LAX.

Staff is friendly and bed was comfortable. You definitely get what you pay for. TV did not work the time I stayed.

If I could give zero stars I would. Got our backpack stolen for our room. They didn't told that the same thing happened the night before. We called the police and they told us that they come to the hostel regularly. Management didn't seem to care at all. Pay a little extra for somewhere else for your safety please! Worse hostel have been to in my life!

Hopefully I was alone in my poor experience. Ended up waiting for the airport shuttle for over an hour after an initial call to the office said "20min to 30min" and google maps pinned a drive to the terminal at 18 min. Filthy check in area, dirty, loud dorm room and overall staff feedback all indicated that sleeping on a chair in airport was better than paying $20 to this business. And there's another rift. Since I booked with a third party [agoda], they insisted I pay them directly at the hostel even after paying online and ask agoda for a reimbursement. After inspection of the dorm room revealed an unsatisfactory stay, they would not allow a refund until speaking with a manager the next day. It says something when sleeping on a bench at the airport is preferable.

The front desk customer service was a bit unenthusiastic but hey, that's fine. They were very knowledgeable and patient with me! They checked me in quickly and explained how to get to my room. My room is beyond clean, it's immaculate! It smells superb and clean and has cool zebra print bedding to boot!! The atmosphere is very relaxed and I know I'll enjoy my stay here! Thanks Backpacker's Paradise!

I am very unhappy to report that I attempted to get a room here and was turned away. I called and was told by the person who answered that rooms were $200.00. They try to rent the more expensive rooms first, especially on Friday night. I get it.

I asked about renting space in a dormitory, and was told $45.00. I arrived about 30 minutes later, and was told a dormitory space was $65.00. I got a sense that they were reluctant to rent to me as I caught the two women at the desk exchanging a worried look as I retrieved my wallet. The blond woman said to the brunette, "see if there are any spaces left at $45.00.". There were . . . Ok

Next, the brunette asked, "If I have ID.". I said, "of course,". As I pulled my driver's license out the clerk said, "do you have a passport?". FYI, Americans travelling in America tend NOT to travel with their passports. I will never rent from this hostel. If they are a national chain, I will report my experience.

For me was the place that best suit my needs. Though the rooms are small and only share one bathroom, I just needed a place to burn too many hours between one flight and another. They pick you up at the airport, just have to call them and you can leave your luggage there. They give you an included snack for breakfast, free shuttle to Manhattan Beach, a nice pool and dinner at the restaurant are very tasty, good price and complete if you take the meal deals ;) they took me back to the airport with their shuttle and my day was way better than just waiting at the airport.
