Amazing amazing amazing! Staff is friendly, food is great! Views are spectacular. Very quiet and secluded with options to be active and around others. Will come back for sure

Name and ownership change, same great place and great service. Awesome tennis courts with clay surface and super tennis directors, Otis is a true pro and is wonderful. Pools are always clean and are salt water so you don't get the chlorine issues as badly as most hotel/resort pools. Spa and Gym are well stocked with plenty of space to relax or work out, good classes to chose from. The only complaints are from the natural setting here. Haskell's beach has tons of tar that you will pick up on your feet or sandals and this area between Tecolote and Bell Canyons seems to be a magnet for the marine layer to stick longer than the surroundings. On a low tide you can walk a mile west to "driftwood" cove that has a much longer and more forgiving breaking wave than Haskell's itself but it becomes impassible if the tide gets high. There is rarely anyone there to compete for waves with but the waves only come in the winter here due to the island blocking factor.

We are locals and have often gone to the Bistro for lunch. Made a reservation and was asked if it were a special occasion. I replied, Anniversary and Birthday. Asked for a shaded area near the grass. Upon arrival - couldn't find the reservation. Ten minute wait, even though there were empty tables. When seated, long wait for menus, longer wait for water/iced tea. Rarely saw server. Had to ask three times for additional iced tea. Server did not return, after meal was served, until it was bill time. Felt that server was honoring us with his presence! Not the special occasion we had anticipated. Will we return? Probably - see if things have changed.

No hot water in my room - water was "lukewarm" at best after running for 45 min. When we called they said we need to wait for the water to go through ALL the rooms in villa 8 before it gets to 9. Service was mediocre - they gave us our own silverware for eating by the pool after ordering at the bar. The dinner at Angel Oak was pretty terrible. (Wine and service was good but not the food). The Bistro had much better food and the pool was really nice / relaxing. The spa was AMAZING - the only reason I am giving 2 stars - although on the expensive side it was one of the best massages I have had and the facial was really nice. The staff at the spa was very nice as well. All in all stick to the spa and pass on the hotel!!!

Bacara is exactly what it seems to be at first glance, a high end luxury resort spa, with great rooms and beautiful atmosphere. After an hour though you start to feel like it's a business like all the other "Luxury resort" places with fees, high prices and hidden costs that drove my 450$ one night stay to a 733$ one night stay (8/21/17). To be fair I didn't get what I didn't ask for. I just think I'll brace myself for the cost if I ever decide to go back. to be clear I'm not unhappy exactly with the experience ( the staff were amazingly polite and helpful) just a little put off by the price.

Can't say enough great things about this place. They have it dialed in! Always treated with the best service I've ever encountered at a high end hotel/resort. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel pampered. Not one single employee passes you without smiling and greeting you. The valet guys are some of the hardest working guys I've witnessed- and go out of their way to get to know you. They even remembered what car we had driven the previous stay which was 4 months prior, and that my husband had shaven his beard off since the last visit. Ryan and Jason are by far exceptional at making you feel welcome and take great care of your car. And Derek is by far the best bellman they have. So gracious and polite- has great suggestions for local spots and feels like a best friend by the end of your stay. If in doubt about staying here- don't delaybook your stay, you won't be disappointed. You will be ruined, because anywhere else fails in comparison. I can't wait to go back and see my Bacara friends!

Absolutely gorgeous property! The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. We spent most of our time at the spa pool which was quiet and relaxing. Food was delicious at all the restaurants. Highly recommend staying at this property.

Great time, rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Service was spot on. I will definitely visit Bacara again. It was a time to remember. A simple walk to the beach. The pools are great too plus the cabana was also a great treat.

Beautiful resort away from the public where you and your family can enjoy beach front views a relaxing spa or just lounge in the pool. Staff was wonderful and polite. Rooms are spacious and golf cart can pick you up and take you to and from different parts of the hotel because it is a very large property. Overall would recommend it to anyone. Would definitely come back.

Location was awesome. The weather is amazing. The rooms were very nice. Had kind of a Tuscan feel. Customer service was always on point. Always friendly, always smiling. I ordered a grapefruit juice at the pool and they ran all the way to the lobby to get it because they didn't serve it at the pool bar. Exceptional. I would definitely go back.
