Maggie did a blowout on my hair and it was amazing! I have naturally curly hair and she did a great job getting it nice and straight. It was SO soft. I couldn't stop running my fingers through it. I bought the products she used, hoping I can recreate that softness at home.
Michelle cut my 8 year old's hair and it looks fantastic. She did one of those side shaved fades with longer hair on top. He looks great and felt like a big kid getting such a cool haircut in a nice salon. She gave him the grown-up treatment with a hot towel and everything. 😆
Both ladies were so sweet and very professional. I will definitely come back! 😄response / report this review -

I was lucky enough to be pampered at this beautiful, clean, tres chic Hair Institute today! Gabrielle gets 🙌🏼 & ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for her fabulous, knowledgeable treatment on me‼️ From the moment I stepped in, Everything was so professional, friendly & luxurious 😊 I had an exceptional eyebrow tint-what a huge time saver👍🏼I also had a Botanical Mask-Heavenly-, after an amazing shampoo in a massage chair. Gabrielle also gave me a neck & shoulder massage 💆🏼 that I give her a 💯‼️ Finished with an awesome Blow-out. Left feeling beautiful & pampered. I am looking forward to coming back❣️💁🏼😊✨

Maggie is a great student and did a great job coloring my hair. I have blonde hair and my roots are really dark and she colored them perfectly to match the rest. I recommend her and the school!

I LOVE AVEDA! Every time I’ve come I’ve had a great experience. Ila May is amazing and did an incredible job! I’ve seen her twice now and every time she’s done an incredible job!

Good cut. Bad awareness. They aren't very gentle with brushing hair and with knots that come a long. Just wish it could have been more gentle and less pull and tug.

I've gone to Aveda Institute quite a few times for getting my all over color touched up. It's really hard to mess up all over color so I've trusted them for that. The problem that I've been running into is making appointments days in advance (usually over a week in advance), and then showing up for my appointment only to find that the student hasn't shown up to do the service. This has happened to me three times now over the past year or so. When they actually show up I have a good experience, but at this point I'm fed up. I have a busy schedule and need a more reliable salon that actually is actually dedicated to meeting its commitments to customers by showing up for agreed upon appointments. If you care what you look like and value your time, don't waste it with Aveda Institute Provo.

Probably the best choice I could have made!!! I was worried about it because my hair is curly (wavy/curly) so I wasn't sure if they would cut it right or not. But it's the next day and I love it even more! Awesome service- I got a neck/shoulder massage w/an essential oil beforehand, and a complementary thing afterwards (I chose for them to put on hair perfume but I could have chosen lip gloss, blush, etc. also). And even with those it was only $12. Student who cut my hair was awesome and nice, and the instructor did come and check how it was going every once in a while. I loved it! I'm *definitely* going again!

I always come here to get my haircut, and I've never had a bad experience! Everyone here is helpful and friendly, the service is great, it's always clean, the tea is delicious, and I'm always happy with my haircut. The price is incredible for everything you get, too. I'm always here longer than I am at other salons (presumably because the "employees" here are students and just haven't gotten fast yet), but it's very worth it and relaxing as long as you give yourself plenty of time to be there.

My wife went here and really enjoyed her experience. She liked the atmosphere and made some really good friends. But when the time came to take the state board she and several other girls in her class all failed multiple times. She contacted the school multiple times asking for help to prepare for it, and every time she did they said they would see what they could do or that an educator would be willing to help her study. But when it came down to it they did nothing!!! The state board changed as of Jan 1, 2017. So she asked if they would help her prepare for the new requirements. All they did was offer to let her come in and watch a training video that she said was very vague. We finally paid for a two day class at The Forum in American Fork, UT that prepared her for the test. After this class she was completely ready and was able to pass the state board.
Long story short multiple people in her class and the one after hers had a good amount of failures and Aveda did nothing to help them pass! You would think that a school charging $20,000 would do all they could to help you. I would recommend looking at other schools and asking what their policy is for helping people pass after a failure.response / report this review -

The staff and students are very kind. But the professional customer care was what upset me. I had a haircut scheduled because I've been coming here for years. For the students benefit and the pricing is great. However, I brought my 4 year old daughter with me and they said children aren't allowed on the floor for liability reasons (totally understandable) however, I asked if she could sit in the front area, and watch a movie. They agreed that was totally fine. Later returning stating their supervision said "it'd be best if you rescheduled". Just like that. I'm frustrated because not only did I drive in the snow 20 miles to make my appointment, but the front desk staff told me it was fine before hand. Women have children and often bring them to the salon with them. Maybe mention children aren't allowed at the school when appointments are made. It ruined my whole day and made me not want to return again.

I have been going to the Aveda Institute in Provo for over a decade. You work with students who are at varying degrees of learning, and each is very concerned to do their very best in providing you the best service from start to finish. The haircut takes longer than your normal haircut would. You should expect to be there at least 2 hours, but the treatment you receive is fabulous. There are instructors there - for those who are concerned about the quality of haircut - who ensure that your styling is to your taste and is well-done. I would say, because they are learning, they do even better because most are still figuring out how to do things. It's great. I love it. I'll keep going.

The first time I went here was fine. I got a haircut and then they styled my hair, but it took about three hours. It was longer than expected but thankfully I hadn't planned anything till later. So don't plan on leaving quickly! During my first visit they recommended I get a loose wave perm, so my hair would be easier to do and go along with the look I wanted. Who wouldn't want loose, easy waves, right? The stylist and one of the teachers kept encouraging me. I came back about a week later to do the loose perm, which two of the students put in that had done dozens of perms already (so they knew what they were doing). Long story short, the perm turned out TERRIBLY! Nothing about my hair resembled a 'loose perm!' I looked horribly similar to a poodle. My hair was totally dried out and in terrible condition as well afterwards. I would never ever recommend this place after that experience. They completely mislead me on something permanent and damaging. Do not take their recommendations, the students and teachers will heavily mislead you!!!

I've been to many nail salons in the Provo/Orem area and today has been my first positive experience getting a pedicure. Aveda is a school for hair, skin, & nails, therefore, sanitation is very important. I've had friends get toe fungus from other salons in the Utah Valley area, because they don't properly sanitize due to high volumes of walk-ins. I recommend Aveda if you care about sanitation. They give you a very warm and personal welcome. The manicurists do not rush and they treat you with care. The gently music creates the ambience and the seaweed foot scrub is amazing! Their prices are just right, and if you do a regular polish (not gel) you get to keep the nail polish! I love this place. Definitely coming in again. Btw ask for Torrie, she graduates at the end of April. 😉❤️
