This place sucks - they raise your rents half way through your contract for "added" amenities that you don't want or need.

The elevators are consistently broken. This apartments are constantly having problems whether it the air conditioning, garbage disposal, fridge etc. They only get the cheapest stuff so it continues to break.

On top of this, they will not let you sublet without paying a $1000 fee (which is the same to break the lease) and then they force you to find another tenant and you have to keep paying the rent for the apartment until the next tenant arrives.

The pool that they market as one of their amenities is basically a kiddy pool being about 1 foot deep.

The only good thing about this place is the location - it is convenient however, I would rather pay a little extra for a better place with better management.

The other reviews are right that the location is prime, especially for a student. The additional amenities like discounts to various restaurants and the pool and gym are also great.

Now here are the issues I have experienced. First and foremost, we are students so we need wifi to get majority of our work done. I pay extra for 50 mpbs down, when you normally get 10 mpbs free. However I am lucky to get up to 10 on any of my devices, and that's in the common area. In my room I rarely get above 3. Unfortunately I am not the only one that experiences this, I have asked around and it seems that everyone I have spoken to can agree that the wifi is mediocre at best. I live on the top floor so perhaps that contributes to the poor connectivity, which is unfortunate, but the Lofts should not be offering "better" options if those options do not deliver. My 2 cents is that if you live here, don't bother with an internet package.

Additionally, and this may just be AT&T, but I have one bar throughout my entire apartment. I had to call the internet company to set up my wifi, but I couldn't do that because I had no service. But when I go out onto the street or across the street to Backstage Coffee, I have 4 bars at all times. Why is that? Again that may be AT&T, I'm not sure.

Next, the price imo is simply too high. Denver is indeed an expensive place to live but I have found places in Cherry Creek that are cheaper but much nicer. Each of my roommates pay $950/month minimum (with no extra internet packages). I pay $975/month, so that means that all four of us combined give the Lofts roughly $3,900/month. For a small common area, shotty wifi and cell service, weak plumbing (both toilets are the kind that make you nervous every time you flush it because you're not sure if it'll work or not), and thin walls (I can hear my neighbor shuffling around in his sleep when I'm sitting at my desk in my room). Too much.

All in all, I will not be renewing my lease and instead getting an actual apartment. I will gladly pay a little more with only one roommate and a better/nicer place. I recommend that if you are a student and you are new to the area, get an actual apartment with a couple of roommates. The Lofts is ok, I have certainly lived at worse places, but I still recommend getting an actual apartment.

It's in a great location, the rooms are neat, everything is functional. I've never heard anyone complain about the facility itself other than their own problems with roommates, which isn't the fault of the caretakers and maintenance workers in the facility, who are really prompt. The only downfall - and it's not that bad - is that the band plays music across the street at the Denver performing arts complex which can get irritating, but otherwise it's a great place to stay since that can be avoided, in fact the best dorms you can stay in CU Denver. Issues get fixed really promptly, and the security is great here.

The gym is also nice and the best part is it opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 2 a.m. for those who need to let off some stress after working late hours. It has all the equipment you need to get a great workout, and a pool area below to do stretching or sunbath which is really well kept. Laundry facilities are great, automatic card-readers instead of paying by the quarter, and trash rooms on every floor, as well as free wifi which works fine. Nothing to complain about as far as amenities go.

I am a former resident and also worked for the Auraria Student Lofts. I lived at the lofts for about 2 years and as far as that goes, its an awesome place to be. Everything is close to you. Food options are endless, clubs, bars, performing arts center, 2 blocks from campus! Jeremy Trujillo, Connie Lopez, and Maria Escaname are on the maintenance/housekeeping side and do a tremendous job. They grind all day long to keep up with the regular daily tasks and the many requests submitted by their manager.

That brings me to why I am only rating this place 1 Star. Management. They will nickel and dime you for everything. This year before move ins they send a last minute email to EVERYONE stating that there had been a change in policy and they would now be charging for utilities. After the selling point was ALL INCLUSIVE RENT PACKAGE! They took away the model apartment 2 years ago to add additional revenue to the building. So instead of potential residents being able to see what they are getting they are guided to their website to view pictures. To some, this might not matter, to others, it's important to see what you are paying for. If you just meet the Property Manager you can see right through the bubbly persona he puts on. Instead of ordering new wardrobes because the doors were gone or smashed in, after move ins, residents were given a shower rod with a cheap shower curtain to use as doors. For upper management, it's time to invest in the building. The lofts brings in tons of money and more should go back into apartment upgrades and give people what they are paying for. ALSO PROPERLY STAFF YOUR MAINT AND HOUSEKEEPING TEAMS SO THEY CAN COMPLETE AUGUST TURN SUCCESSFULLY!

If you wanna live here it's a good place to live. But be cautious of everything. Note EVERYTHING on move in checklist so you can ensure return of your deposit.

I am sure they will persuade current residents to go online and submit 5 STAR REVIEWS to make sure they beat out the 1 STAR REVIEWS. They persuade staff with bonuses and residents with incentives to put up good reviews.

The worst place you could go if you are a student in Denver. There's only good reviews on here because of bribery. The manager Chris puts on this act where he acts like he cares but he honestly doesn't. I had to move out early because of his behavior and I no longer felt safe. He will write and send students emails about parties and thank the 98% of us for being great students (ha) when honestly it's just that no one gets caught. There are more serious safety issues that go on here and you think he sends out emails about that? No he's just a money hungry fraud do yourself a favor and save your money and your mental health.

To respond to the response I was given> no way would I EVER ask for help from the manager ever again. I was in need of serious help and was told "no not right now" and to go sit in the lobby because apparently unloading groceries were more important than 3 very clearly upset and distraught students. This whole place is a joke but thank you for your pathetic response.

After finding Auraria Student Lofts (ASL) last year, I knew my apartment hunt had ended. ASL has been an incredible academic and social experience for me. Auraria Campus can be a hard place to make new friends and connections, since it's a commuter campus. However, the lofts gives you a built in community and a great way to start your collegiate career. Everything you could need is less than a mile away and campus is a five minute walk from your door. Moreover, maintenance (usually Jeremy) is fast, courteous, and always willing to help. The front office staff, specifically Riley, Dara, and Emma, are incredibly knowledgeable and are always there to point you in the right direction. Chris, the general manager, is the cherry on top. All in all, the views, the living spaces, and the professional office staff make ASL the best student housing experience in Colorado. I highly recommend checking the place out to see if it's a fit for you, good luck on the rest of your journey!!

The Auraria Student Lofts is a great place to live. The maintenance team is very helpful, especially Jon Dunbar. He does an excellent job at getting the task done in an efficient manner. He is considerate, smart, and respectful to the residents and knows how to fix any problem that may arise! I can definitely count on him.

My first year in ASL has been amazing and I renewed for another year. The location is great. My school and work are both in less than ten minutes of walk. Parking is expensive but since everything is so close, the location makes up for it. Without having a car doing groceries is little difficult but it gets easier to manage after few months. Office staff is very friendly and they do their best to help out the residents. Dara in the front is super sweet, always very positive, never forgets to smile and say hi, and always helpful with what I need.

This is my first year living at the Auraria Lofts and it has been an amazing experience. Moving down from a small town, the location is UNBEATABLE right in the heart of downtown. The walk to school is right around the street, plus there is plenty of night life, restaurants, and shops all around the building as well. There's is always something to go do! I have made great friends over the past 10 months, even with the Janitorial service. I met Maria E, who I've seen every morning come to pick up the trash on my floor as I go to work and she is so friendly. I see how much effort the janitorial service put into vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping the area to keep the place very clean. Overall I was super pleased with my stay at ASL, it is very very recommended if you are going to school here on campus!

I've lived here for 10 months and I can genuinely say that the lofts are a great place to live for students. It's downtown location is amazing, their staff - such as Jose Torres - are quick and helpful, maintenance is on-top of things, and occasionally they throw in nice little giveaways and food. My main qualm with it is that their roommate matching could be better I've heard of people who love their roommates but I hated most of mine. Of course, I can't blame the lofts for how my roommates acted but be aware of that. The price is on par for other student housing and fair for the experience and location; of course, you can find cheaper places farther away and for worse quality. Other than that, my only complaint is that they have a pool/gym area open till 2 am but they lock one of the doors to get to that area at 12 am, so you either have to go through an elevator (which they repeatably tell you not to do) or go through an outside route at 1 in the morning. Yeah, because THAT'S safe and makes sense. Other then that, though, the place is great.
