Cafe is very nice. I only give 4 stars because there is no place to sit in the cafe without being in the draft of the cold air whenever the door opens. And it is so busy the doors opens every few seconds. So i didn't like sitting inside and being cold (it was -5°C outside).

Whoever came up with this idea is a genius: hot coffee and pastries by day and pizza by night. You can spend all your waking hours here if you so desired. :) Bonus for giant cookies and wood-burning ovens. Kudos for vegetarian options and delicious side dishes. Five stars for both the idea and the execution.

One of the better pizza places in Boston. Always something interesting cooking in the kitchen. Their crust is pretty phenomenal for a thin crust and a wood fired oven adds the perfect heat for a good crunchy thin crust pizza.

I've been to Area Four twice.

The first time we got there as the kitchen closed but the bartender took us and poured some kick ass drinks for us. We were impressed with his enthusiasm and had a great conversation with him.

The second time we returned to try and experience the pizza that everyone raves about. The food itself was really great. Unfortunately we were aggressively rushed out the door by our waitress.

Epic garlic knots. So amazing, charred, and chewy. Beer selection is not too extensive but it is good. This could happen at any bar, but for some reason I always end up having the most unusual and interesting conversations here!

Great place for team dinner. Highly recommend the garlic knots, which are only available at this location. Crust was nice and wood smoked crusty!

Cafe + restaurant/bar in the Kendall/MIT area. The café offers the usual options, plus some interesting "after 5pm" coffee-based cocktails. If you like savory breakfasts but don't have time to wait for one of the more elaborate choices, grab a savory croissant. Flaky, cheesy, and just awesome. Pizza at A4 is always good. My favorite so far is the mushroom and fontina pizza. Excellent cheesy garlic knots as well. There's a well-stocked bar with a variety of wine and beer offerings. Minus one star because the coffee takes a bit too long to arrive at times.

They have a pretty excellent cafe here with Barrington Coffee, which used to be the main attraction for me, but since trying their pizza, I am really impressed. The crust was divine, and the sauce and toppings all fresh and expertly prepared. I'm looking forward to coming here again.

I have eaten pizza in at least five countries (including Italy) and I can enthusiastically say that the pizzas I ate at Area Four were the best I've had in my life.

- Rich, tangy, plentiful tomato sauce shockingly a rarity on pizzas nowadays.
- The perfect proportion of cheese, sauce, crust and toppings.
- And such flavorful toppings! Amazingly fresh, crisp where they were supposed to be crisp, juicy where you wanted juicy, and so on!
- A crust that was perfectly chewy and crispy and complemented the toppings just right.

You know how to tell if a pizza place is just out-of-this-world amazing? You try their margherita pizza and if you're savoring every bite and NOT once thinking "Nice, but would be better with added toppings" then you've hit jackpot. And this, my friends, was jackpot.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I tried one of their meaty pizzas. Oh man so incredibly delicious and after downing several big slices, I didn't feel like my gut was gonna best like I normally would from meat pizza slices. I felt happy and so grateful that I found this place.

I will seriously go out of my way to try the many pizzas here. If I could get them flash-frozen and shipped (or put in luggage) back to California, I would!

We had a reservation the other night. Were told it would be a 10-minute wait. Fine. The hostess then ignored us for 20 and seemed surprised when we asked how it was looking. "10 minutes," she replied as if she'd never said it before. She seated others ahead of us, some of whom had just come in. 40 minutes after our reservation, without an apology or really even an acknowledgment of the wait, we were seated. It took another 10 for the waiter to show. Then the pizza came out BURNT--the crust was a shattering ring of black carbon. This wasn't our first time at Area 4; we've had better experiences in the past, but this was one insult after another. It's not worth it.
