Pretty sick place with gnarly terrain close to Denver. Too bad most of it was closed when I was there. Regardless, the snow was great and lift lines moved quickly. If you buy lift tickets on liftopia, you can save a ton of cash. Employees are very friendly and the food is fantastic. Get a grilled cheese (the one with duck) at the restaurant there; it is amazing.

This place is for skiing and not much else. If you're looking for amenities, go to Winter Park. I personally like ski resorts like A Basin because I don't have to walk 10 miles to the lift. Will definitely return.

A-Basin is most amazing! From the rock-solid terrain to the eating choices, it is just amazing. Love the mid-mountain smoke house, some of the best I've had and no, it isn't the altitude speaking. Fresh ingredients and caring staff contribute to great food. Skiing never had a problem with crowds or lines, I just wish the new lifts would materialize faster! A-Basin is truly the Legend!

The Legend! If you want to ski/ride, this is the place, no frills, no escalators, just a lodge with good beer and a mountain with good slopes. Never a bad day at the beach, only good days with varying amounts of awesomeness. Montezuma bowl is on the backside and is the bees knees when there is some fresh snowfall. Also, the hiking terrain is worth it, oh so worth it. Plus, in the spring, this place has the best pond skimming. All natural pools filled with glorious mountain snowmelt. Enjoy!!!

This was my first experience Skiing and boy it was so much fun! I had taken ski lessons and the trainer was friendly but me and my friends felt that she was little slow and could have showed us little more skills. I saw lots of kids skiing and having lots of fun. There were three different levels out of which 2 were truly professional and 1 was for bigger. I would defiantly go again. Don’t forget your SUNGLASSES or you would have to buy cheap one for 30$.

I love the Basin. It's gotten busier since word has gotten out. Generally speaking, parking is free and easy (unless you roll in at 10:30 like a filthy casual). Food and drink is reasonably priced. The mountain is on the smaller side; the upside to that is that the runs are just long enough to be fun and challenging without making you stop 3 times on the way to the lift. I can do laps all day here without feeling pooped. Also: practically no catwalks or green runs. This place is for locals that know how to ski/ride.

I'm told it receives the first and last snow of the season. I loved it. Small lodge and I think only 2 or 3 lifts open, but great place to take first ride this year.

Cheapest lift tickets in Summit County. More local feel, not owned by Vail Resorts. Highly recommend for advanced riders and most intermediate riders. There isn't too much beginner terrain here, but for the advanced to extreme skiers it doesn't get better than the Basin.

June skiing 2017 was my first Colorado ski experience and was excited to visit A-Basin. As it turns out, pictures can't capture the immensity of this mountain as I was not prepared for the sheer expanse of skiable terrain (and this is only one of the many ski slopes in this little area) I had high expectations but was ultimately disappointed

in myself. My own limitations are what hampered my experience of this place. Considering the progress I made at Sipapu in February I was expecting to be much more adept in conquering A-Basin, but I found my body had lost a lot of conditioning since then (got very sick in March and hurt my back in May).

So, I am looking forward to this winter, when I can come back in fighting form to properly enjoy the experience this mountain can provide.

My only complaints are 1) about prices, as I vacation on a tight budget, and 2) that waitresses in the bar play favorites to some customers while requiring others to speak up for service but the male waiter was universally attentive. Both days I came in sat down orderly and quietly, minded my own business, spoke with simple respect, gazed out at the slopes while I ate, and paid in full with a generous tip - nothing to warrant being treated like a leper. The fact the waitresses acted like they didn't want me there on the first day and that the male waiter was the only one offering me refills on the second is why A-Basin doesn't earn that last star.

Naughty snowboarding. The runs were awesome! Steep, fast, good width, great views. When we went it was super windy but it just added to the fun! If you a good snowboarder who love to charge runs, this should be up your street!

Great skiing. Ski patrol are not such jerks like at Keystone. This place was better when the parking lots were open to camping. Don't you just hate lawyers! They sue for any little incident causing the rest of us to have less access to cool places.

Super super fun ski experience. I have been living in Malaysia & Singapore almost the entire time, Never knew about spring ski. It was so amazing for me to driving up a mountain that was warm yet still see snow. The instructor os patient and helpful. Managed to ski at the beginner lane on our own after one hour of training.

I love A-Basin. I used to teach skiing there. The snow is the best quality in the county because of altitude. Spectacular scenery and small mountain atmosphere. Food at the Black Mountain Lodge is excellent. Lots of challenging terrain. Limited novice terrain. Tailgate parties on "the beach", concerts and special events make this one of the best spring skiing spots in the country.

Very laid back people, with a friendly environment and good terrain. They have some of the best beginner moguls and cliff jumps in Summit County and are a really friendly place for beginners and more experienced skiers alike. I would highly recommend them if you want some really friendly people and beginning to moderately advanced terrain.

One of my favorite spots to ski. On a sunny day its immaculate. It's like skiing on top of the world. Great expert terrain options as well, even if the over size is limited. Get there early and park at the "beech"

I went here for the first time this past weekend with 4 others. 3 of my friends were from out of town and wanted to give skiing a try. I felt A-basin was a good place for this due to the resort being smaller in nature and the ticket pricing being very affordable. It had great beginner runs at the bottom of the mountain and had a good variety of other terrain for those with more advanced skills. The snow was awesome because it had been snowing all week, but even if it had not they do groom a lot of their runs so it is good for spring skiing. Will definitely be going back!
