The room was quite small but I did not mind. The bathroom was very roomy and bigger than I thought so I was pleasantly surprised.
Amazing quaint hotel bang in the center of action. Spitting distance to Bryant Park and strolling distance to Times square. Oh! Shared bathrooms but squeaky clean.
We stayed here last month. I would say you get what you pay for with this hotel. A really good base camp with no luxury. The great thing and what I would say is its USP is it's slap bang in the centre of the city with only a 5 minute walk to Macys and a 10 - 15 walk to places such as Times square and the Empire State Building, all for an affordable price.
The guy at the front desk was friendly. But there were no personal essentials like soap, toothpastes, toothbrushes. They only had soap dispensers. Breakfast was offered but we didn't have it.
For the price, it was awesome. Location is within walking distance of a lot. Just there to sleep so I didn't need much. It was clean and bathroom was just fine. Loved my stay. For so cheap!! I did a 2 person trip with parking, food, bed and bath, and all activities for under 500 bucks. Can't beat that
Nice small rooms, community bathroom and kitchen on each floor and not bad for price
Great location but you should keep the downsides in mind. The street is noisy, the bathrooms are shared and the rooms are small. Other than these, it is a great place to enjoy the time square and the midtown.
The stars are earned by simply being in New York City and being clean. In every other regard this is a bad hotel.
First room we got was super noisy. Impossible to sleep. The window seemed to serve absolutely no purpose. Got a new room which was a lot better. Helpful staff, but small and worn down rooms. In any other city is say not worth the price, but hey - this is new york Great location.
The room was alright, bathrooms are shared and located In The hallways. You have to get buzzed in to enter the hotel as the lobby is on the second floor. No matter your room rate there is a $150 deposit taken upfront that is released after you check out which can take many by surprise. Internet access must be paid for daily. There is not many amenities as it's almost just a small room with a twin bed and very base necessities. There was two towels, a sink and mirror in the room, flat screen TV with basic cable channels. No continental breakfast and floors are tile so it can get very cold at night walking to the bathroom down the hall. Beds break and make considerable noise that your neighbors would think you got the room specifically for that type of stay.
It is an older place with shared bathrooms. Rooms are tiny and one can hear a lot of street noise. The bed is pretty awful. But the place is really clean. If you find yourself in a hotel emergency, and need a room immediately, its a pretty good choice.
For the money on Mahattan, its a great deal. The rooms are small, but you have just enough to get around and you get a full sized closet. The bathrooms tend to stay very clean. Being on the street is a bit rough because even with the window closed, it sounds completely open. All. Night. Long. They're currently renovating the first floor, so although it may look unfinished and empty when you're going in at night, head straight up the stairs.
Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Was the cheapest room by far for NYE. Small but clean room, newer TV with cable, great location. Shared bathrooms but there was a small sink in our room. Would stay again!
Highly Disappointing - STAY AWAY !
Pros: NOTHING.. VERY VERY BAD
Cons: the guy in the counter at night - I think he is an Indian guy who is unwelcoming. (Not offending as I am an Indian too and I expect some kind of smile. When I checked in around 10 p.m the guy at the counter was extremely rude and unwelcoming. The most inhospitable atmosphere. Bathrooms smell like fried chicken oil. And FYI - THERE IS NO PRIVATE BATHROOM - IT IS SHARED. Way expensive. If you wanted to stay near Times Square there are other hotels which are good and cost you the same. STAY AWAY from this hotel.
