Wish I could have rated 1/2 star and truly doesn't qualify for that due to the lackadaisical attitude of the waitresses. We should have turned around at the door when we walked in because it smelled of an old snooker bar that had been smoked in for years. Service was poor. The waitress came to the table to ask what we wanted to order while I watched the beer I ordered sitting at the bar opened and getting warm for 10 minutes. Needless to say no food was ordered. Not worth the time going to Jacksonville Landing. Run down and dead!

Been here twice and it's been great both times! The pot pie has the most delicious crust! Our table ordered a wide range of items and everyone was more than satisfied. The waitress was very accommodating and the overall feel of the place was cozy. Will definitely be visiting again!

Do not be fooled by the other uncultured swine that left reviews, the service is fine and the food is disgusting. Fries- limp. Bacon- precooked. Chicken- flavorless. Pickles- mediocre. Ketchup- fancy. Worst of all, water- dirty. I am sitting here parched from my dry sandwich that came sauce less and can't even drink something to get rid of the dreadful taste. The salt was pretty good though.

Food was absolutely amazing for the price. Had crab/shrimp linguini. Loaded with seafood. Seen bad reviews. Don't pay too much attention to them. 5 star on service and food!! We will be back

I'm a review guy. I saw the rating (2.7 out of a possible 5 stars) and because we were hungry and it was there, we gave it a shot. Epic failure! Our server was nice but the kitchen was slow. The restaurant had barely any people in it. After an hour, our waitress brought us complimentary chips and salsa because the food was so slow. Good thing it was free because the chips were stale. We asked if our order had started to be cooked and it had not. We walked out. Other servers were very rude when we asked about our food. I would not recommend this place if you were starving and the food was free.

I visited the American Grill on a work related trip to Jacksonville awhile back. I almost passed this place up but I'm glad I didn't. The place was clean, the view was great, and the food was the best I've had from a restaurant in a long time. The portions were plentiful and I ended up taking part of my meal to go. The service staff was very courteous and knowledgeable and attended to every need. After dinner I requested to see the manager and walked to the bar area to ask the bartender if I could see the manager. I think the wait staff thought something was wrong, and when I spoke to the bartender, I let him know how much I really enjoyed the experience, the food and staff there. I think he was surprised as usually a request for a manager is for a problem requiring them to straighten something out. After I heaped praise on the restaurant, the food, and the staff, he let me know that he was actually the owner, and had just done renovations to the place and added staff. I can't wait to get back to Jacksonville again to visit this American institution. Bravo on a job well done. Sorry it took me awhile to review your establishment.

From start to finish:

Walked in for lunch on a Tuesday a 12:45. Place was dead and took someone about 5 minutes to acknowledge we were there and seat us, mind you the dining room was empty. We were sat outside where there was only 9 total tables occupied. Drink orders were taken and served promptly. However this experience soon went South fast. We ordered a salad and Sweet Potato Waffle Nachos for appetizers and all three of us ordered burgers. From the time the apps were ordered to the time they got to there was 25 minutes. Followed 10 minutes later by our meals. There's 4 waitresses here that I can see and the service sucks. 4 people to cover 10-12 tables is more than manageable. The only reason they got two stars is because the food is actually good. However, I have a feeling that the service at this place is like playing Russian Roulette You never know what you're gonna get.
