This is a nice zoo for spending a few hours. Not as many large animals as bigger zoos, but still good for children. You won't leave wiped out at the end of the day, as its smaller size makes it possible to see everything with time left to spare in the day. The slide through the otter exhibit is a real fun attraction. We also like the penguins. You are closer to some of the animals than at other zoos, so that is also a plus.

This was a very nice zoo and the Wild Lights event was fun. The overall price was average and the zoo was a little smaller than others, but they did a great job arranging the flow and populating the zoo with animals. They did a great job with the zoo and the lights, it was a pretty atmosphere and lights.

This is a great zoo. We have been members for several years. The programs throughout the year are great, the attractions are great and it does not take a terribly long time to go through on a cold Ohio day or on a very hot Ohio day. For younger children it is the perfect amount of time to spend at the zoo. Generally we spend around two hours or less and see all the exhibits and that includes playing on the slide and riding the train, merry go round, etc. Great time!! We have used the membership for discounts at other zoos which is really nice!!

The Akron Zoo, is my zoo. I've enjoyed taking my children here as babies in strollers, I've enjoyed seeing my now tweens continue to enjoy their favorite lemur, penguin and bear exhibits, and I am always pleased to see the zoo be reinvested in over and over again.

I have been to zoos from San Diego to Tampa, from Toledo to North Carolina, and although not the biggest, our Akron Zoo is among the best in terms of quality, cleanliness, and access to animals.

Proud to have this zoo in our own back yard!

Excellent Family Zoo, especially for little legs. It's just the right size for my 5yo to see all the animals, play on/with the extra equipment, before getting bored or tired. It's amazing to see how much this little zoo has grown over the last 30+ years. Only downside, water from machines are $3/bottle, and the train and carousel are both $2/person, each. There's also a small feel to food to feed the goats. Even given these extra expenses, it's an affordable and fun family outing.

It's a smaller zoo, but it was still a great experience. The zoo is well maintained, clean and there is excellent signage for navigating around. Since it's smaller they don't have all the animals a larger one might, like monkeys, but the animals they do have look well cared for and mostly visible when weather cooperates.

Wonderful zoo. They've added so much to it and improved the habitats for the animals and the viewing for visitors too. Don't get there too early you will have to wait for them to open the doors and that's where the bees hang out. Great zoo, we go a couple times a year.

This is a nice zoo and keeps getting better. I have been visiting for about 20 years and it is not the same place I came to all those years ago. From the current entrance to the carousel to some of the indoor exhibits, so much is "new". They have a nice selection of animals from bears and bats to snow leopards and penguins, and so many other animals. They have food and snacks, an educational show in the summer, a carousel, a small train, petting zoo area, and a nice gift shop. If you have not been there in a while, consider a visit. Please see the website for hours but the zoo is open year round except some holidays and during very bad weather. Ohio has some really nice zoos and Akron may not be huge but it holds it's own and is worth a visit.

This is one of my all time favorite zoos. Not too big that you feel rushed and exhausted. Just the right size for an enjoyable stroll for two+ hours. The zoo is beautiful and well-kept with lush landscaping and lots of natural rock. The animals are well cared for.

A small zoo, but that's a good thing, particularly if you are taking children with you. It's fairly easy to walk the entire zoo, and to spend a little time at each exhibit. It's also clean, attractive, and easy to navigate. The snow leopards, lions, and the Sumatran tiger (which unlike the Bengal tiger, has a mane smaller than, but similar to, that of a lion) are great for big cat fans. Grizzly bears, several bald eagles, Red Wolves, and coyotes are a few highlights of the North American animals on display. Penguins, Komodo dragons, flamingos, lemurs, stingrays, bats There are plenty of things to hold your interest throughout the day. There's also a petting zoo and a carousel for young kids. And the zoo is installing a new aquatic-themed display in one of the buildings. Although it was still under construction during my visit, I stuck my head through one of the doors to see workers busily finishing many tanks and other display areas. The one tank that appeared to be completed had a HUGE octopus in it, and she was fully open, like a big umbrella. Can't wait to visit again when this newest attraction is open.

Wonderful zoo and fun for everyone! You can definitely make the rounds in 2-4 hours and they have a lot of fun activities and hands on for the kids. All the animals are beautiful and I love seeing them.

Absolutely the best zoo for the money! Not too large and not too small. Perfect for younger children. Their passes are extremely affordable and pay for themselves quickly.

It's a beautiful place. Definitely worth the admission. We even saved 50 per cent off for being Toronto Zoo members. We went in the winter, while it was snowing. We'd love to go back in the summer when all the exhibits (hopefully) are open!

Nice local zoo that you can visit all exhibits in about 3 hours. Play areas for the kids. Picnic areas as well. The Komodo kingdom building has a restaurant as well as many wonderful exhibits including an interactive area with certain animals currently on exhibit in the building .
The bears exhibit is so nice! You can watch them play swim sleep from the sheltered bench area. The otters are my favorite with a tube slide that goes into/ through their enclosure! Snow leopard babies and so much more.
