Rooms are horrible. Heat is not hot in some rooms. I can't believe motel 6 would hang there name on this dump!!!!! I called to complain of no heat they told me it's very cold outside. Second call ill send somone to look at it after 2 hours they finally changed my room. Jacuzzi tub was horrible. I would not get in it!!! So it was a waste to pay for Jacuzzi room. It was around 1 am by the time we got settled. I would not recommend going there at all!!!!

Booked with Motel 6 in Newark because I was incredibly impressed with a Motel 6 I stayed at in Connecticut a few years ago. This Motel 6 began to make an impression as soon as I pulled into the parking lot, but for a very, very negative reason. There was no parking in the front of the hotel, nearly every inch was double parked with cars that I assumed were spilling over from the airport parking lot adjacent to the property. I found what I believe was the only open parking spot, and went to check in at the office. I was impressed that there were three gentlemen behind the desk that were able to check me in quickly and give me directions to my room. This hotel had all exterior corridors, with covered, but not enclosed stairwells. The first thing I noticed once inside my room was a wall light that was literally hanging out of the wall with no bulb in it. This really should have been the moment that I called the front desk and asked for another room, but as it was already 12:30 in the morning and I had a 8:00am meeting, I didn't want to move. Initially, half of the bathroom lights wouldn't turn on. Three of the four overhead light fixtures in the room were missing lightbulbs. The temperature was around freezing that night, and I looked for an additional blanket in the room and found none, so I used my coat as a second blanket. All of the dresser drawers were broken, as was one of the armrests on the desk chair awkwardly positioned in the corner of the room. The majority of the electrical outlets around the room had no face plates on them, just a hole in the wall.
When I checked out in the morning I asked if it was possible to get a reduction based on the condition of my room. The gentleman at the desk repeatedly told me they had plenty of other rooms that were "better" that I could have been put in. I explained that I had arrived very late at night and did not want to move to another room. He told me that the manager of the hotel would call me later that day to discuss my request, and I have yet to receive a phone call. This establishment should not be allowed to keep the Motel 6 name.

The room was filthy. Stains on the mattress and rug. Paint chipping off the walls. No deadbolt on the door so very unsecure. The service was great though. Both gentlemen at the front desk were very kind and helpful. There was garbage and broken down equipment all over the hotel. I’ve stayed in other Motel 6’s before and never have I had this issue.

Has the nessesities, looks like the room was recently updated. Checking was easy and she was personable. Bathroom was extreamly small , if you are bigger then average you will not fit. Many food options within walking distance. Was easy to get to airport. Def a no frill place but I felt I payed a reasonable rate for what I got. Air freshener was overused and saturated the room and my clothes .

The hotel is very rundown. The bed was comfortable and sheets clean, but the carpeting was so dirty and stained, my feet were sticking to it disgusting

This property is a dump. Aside from the helpfulness of the individual at the reception desk, all other aspects of this property are poor. Access from the adjacent highway is difficult. General appearance: Poor. The bathroom / toilet in my room was so small, I found it difficult to enter the shower. One room near mine was boarded-up (recent fire?). Value for money spent: Poor. Next time I must spend a night near Newark, I will chose a hotel at least 20 miles distant from Elizabeth / Newark, then simply endure the traffic the following morning.

Reserved a room here due to an early flight in the morning. I would not recommend this place for a woman traveling alone. I've stayed at a motel 6 before and it was nothing like this one! I paid about 90 bucks for the night.
First issue was the shuttle, it took about an hour of waiting and calling the motel front desk 4 times until it arrived.
The place does look sketchy, males sitting around just hanging out and looking at you is a bit disconcerting at 10 pm when you're a woman alone with luggage carrying it up the stairs.
The deadbolt lock appeared to be broken off, so I had to use the twist lock under the door handle. The comforter had cigarette burns in it, the AC was loud.
Come about 130 am someone kept knocking on my door, it woke me up and I had ear plugs on. This person (appeared to be a male, it was hard to see what this person looked like through the peephole cause there was some paint on it) was there knocking for longer than 30 minutes, and I received a phone call to my room. They kept knocking.
I called the front desk, I told them I was alone, and they asked me if I knew the person who was knocking?!
They said they couldn't do anything about it so I said, "okay, I'll just call the police, there is no reason anyone should be knocking at my door at this hour" and they said "yeah, do that, that is okay. You can do that."
By 230 am the persistent person had left.
I did not feel safe at this place.
I left an hour early, with one guy from the front desk and the shuttle driver escorting me to the shuttle because I was so concerned about my safety. I really just took a nap, slept no more than 3 hours.
I should have just stayed at the airport.
I paid 90 bucks for a nap and a scare and a long ass wait at the airport.

There are people living in this hotel. Run down. No parking spots. Storage pods are lined up in parking spots in front of rooms.
Bathroom was redone and nice but very small - About 20" from sink counter to wall.
Paint peeling in room and a/c unit had pieces of cardboard folded up between slats to keep from rattling. This example of a Motel 6 will keep me from staying at one in future. We stayed because it is pet friendly. From now on, our pet friendly choice is Red Roof Inn!

The property was strewn with construction equipment, and the rooms were strewn with debris. The first room we were assigned had no hot water, and the second room door was just barely lockable. The maids seem to have tried to do their best, but management was not ready for business. The employees were pleasant enough, the coffee and ice machines worked, and the shuttle to the airport worked well. Even the many construction workers were friendly fellows. Overall, however, our impression was very negative. My wife declared she will no longer stay at ANY Motel 6 because of how bad this place was, though I may be able to persuade her to change her mind after she calms down. I am sorry to say that neither of us will ever stay at THIS Motel 6 again under any circumstances.

The front desk is understaffed, and the only guy present there wasn't really a gracious host, so to say. We had to wait for a long time before someone attended to us. We called the front desk repeatedly to get our shower fixed, but no one ever turned up. The area in which it is located is also really shady although nothing bad happened to us during our stay. However, the rooms were clean and the price was fair. Good value for money, I would say.

The motel is a mess (renovations on going). It made keeping the carpet clean. The parking is difficult at times. But our room was fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even the construction guys were friendly. Know this is Motel 6 and it's short on amenities. We like the location, near NYC.

Worst place ever. Massive constructon everywhere. First room was 90+ degrees, at 7pm. A/C unit blew air direct from the Sun. Second room, entire room circuit breaker tripped. No lights. A/C unit did not work at all. Front desk guy had to reset that breaker. 40grit sandpaper was softer than towels.

Best thing about the place, was the soap smell.

I would never book this hotel ever again and recommend nobody to stay here. First pulling in it looked like a parking lot. I understand it is under construction but having triple parked cars and all the construction it looked horrible. Getting into the room the first thing I see is the air conditioner broken and falling apart then the smoke detector taken out of the wall. There is no actual blankets on the bed just one sheet and a duvet the thickness of a sheet so we froze all night with no heater. Not sure if it was employees yelling at each other but around 7 am a lady was yelling for at least an hour in the next room and we were kept up all night with doors slamming all night. The bathroom was tiny and the water in the shower kept going from freezing cold to burning hot. And make sure you bring your own pillows because the paper thin cotton ball they give you will make you toss and turn all night to get comfy. It was the longest 7 hours of my life being uncomfortable with the conditions and surrounding of the hotel.
