Great food, great drinks and exceptional service. The waitress had recommended a rye to try but it wasn't for me. The manager comped the drink which was very nice. The story behind the restaurant is fun and again, did the smoked meats and the cauliflower sloppy Joe was delish!

Loved everything about this place! Fantastic service, great cheese plate and the atmosphere was perfect! Really appreciated that the tables are not on top of each other!

We had great beer and even better service at ATG when visiting from out of town. Our server was very attentive and we were able to enjoy a nice sunset on the outside patio. Didn't try any food but would definitely recommend to anyone needing a nice brew. Great playlist!

Great BBQ and beer. Ample seating; room with tables in the front of the restaurant nice for young kids. Menu for kids had a good selection.

The food is delicious. Premium ingredients, well prepared. We had the truffle fries, which were greasy and savory and not overdone like some dishes can be. We also had the sandwiches, and the barbecue there definitely does not disappoint. The beer selection is also top notch, with many different styles sure to please most palates. Seating was a bit crowded - this place is very popular on game days. Send a friend to get a table early!

First time in Louisvillepassed this place while heading to the Slugger Museum. Great brisket and cold yummy brew (WHIM - Hopped Out). Sat on the patio in the 78 degrees and it was wonderfulmusic was on point (coffee shop style)! Would definitely come back.

This was our second visit to Against the Grain. Our first was on a Sunday afternoon when they were serving brunch. We weren't expecting it, but it ended up being really good and so we decided to come back this evening. Tonight was NOT a good experience. Even though it's Friday night it hasn't been busy at all, but we've waited excessive amounts of time on service, our food came out before our appetizer (they forgot to ring it in), and when the beer pretzel came the best part was the mustard - I don't recommend the beer pretzel or cheese (and my husband LOVES cheese, but he wouldn't even eat it. Our order came out wrong however we didn't complain because we had waited so long and were extremely hungry! Overall this second experience was seriously disappointing. The beer was good, and the my husband liked his burger okay, but that was it. I think that it could be good here based on our first experience, but it isn't consistent.

By far the most well known craft brewery in Louisville, and for good reason. The tap list is all produced here and rotates often. They have something for everyone, and plenty of bourbon as well! Food is fantastic and smoked in house, try the jerky! Staff is friendly and will take good care of you. Beer to-do available on site and there's a huge patio.

We were given a recommendation from the bar tender at Angels Envy. The beer was great. The smoked meats were better. The brisket was exceptional. Lunch rocked!

Great atmosphere. It was pretty crowded when we arrived so we sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive. I ordered the dose of envy cocktail. It was really good and really strong. I didn't order any of the food.

Terrible service. Stopped here after a walk around town and ordered the pork belly. Requested outdoor seating but was told to sit at the bar and order them go outside because there was a wait but plenty of outdoor seating. The bartenders walked by us several times helping others who came after us. We got water with our food but the bartender forgot us. We finally got up and walked outside. Food came out quick enough but at least half of the "pound" of meat was fat and very little bbq sauce. Overall the meat was very bland. The only thing I would recommend from the meal was the cheesy corn. Would not recommend at all unless you are already hammered and will eat anything..not worth the 16 dollars just for the meat.

Edit 5/17: New mushroom burger is kinda sad.. Can't pick up the "sandwich" and the bread was dry/useless. Would be better served as tacos on white corn tortillas or tortillas with flavor.

Or bring back the mushroom burger! :-)

Old review- Cannot wait for my Mushroom Burger and Fries tonight! It is my favorite and have been craving it all week!

Gave them 3 visits and will now never go back. The service is incredibly bad. Sat outside and waited 15 min then left. Second try sat at the displaced bar counter and after 10 minutes walked out. The last attempt same. Was it busy you say? How about 10 people in the restaurant. NO ! And to top it off, the manager struts around like he's the worlds greatest. Pathetically bad.
