Normally I would give you 5 stars BUT this past weekend I was treated horribly at check in to the hotel by a woman named Sarah who in my opinion is unhappy with her job. As I was checking in she informed me that I had to pay for Saturday night(i had a reservation for Friday, Saturday and Sunday){which had been made several months in advance). I told her there must be a problem because I have never been charged to stay there. She asked to see my confirmation which for some reason on my email every confirmation prior and continuing till October was there EXCEPT this past weekend. She then asked if I had an offer rudely. Fortunately I did. Once she had put the offer in she had the nerve to say to me "good thing you had an offer or you would either pay or not stay here". Excuse me Is that how you talk to a customer not to mention I am a Diamond card holder. To add insult to injury I asked Sarah if possibly when I checked out if they could release the 86.25 hold on my credit card. She argued about it Only being 75.00 even though I could show 86.25 was in hold for the Horseshoe CasinoSarah then stated that's because you are using a ore-paid American Express.Really you looked up my card and attempted to embarrass me in front of other customers. I got that card because I was tired of my other credit cards being held for 7 days for a room that is comped. Sarah never tried to fix the problem that obviously was a mix up on there end not mine because I NEVER book a room that I have to pay for considering I have went from Gold to Platinum to Diamond card holder in 6 monthsobviously my room is comped because of the money I spend inside your casino. Sarah was rude and unprofessional and definitely not hospitable working in an hospitality position. The only reason the problem was fixed was because I just happened to have another offer or I guess like Sarah said I wouldn't be staying therewell my money would have went elsewhere tooguess she didn't care about that either. In all the times I have been there(twice a month for 3-5 days each visit) I have never been treated as rudely as this last visit.
Overall had a good time. All staff were really nice. Pool area clean, nice to relax there and use hot tub. The only downfall is the distance from hotel to casino. You really have to be in good shape. It's easily 1/2 mile to a mile.
The hotel itself is very well-renovated, and the rooms are all really nice! Unfortunately, the hotel is extremely far from the restaurants and casino (in fact the parking garage is closer), so getting to those places requires a 5-10 minute walk. The casino is reasonably nice as well, nothing special though. All in all, if you're in southern Indiana, this isn't the worst place to go to lose your money.
Awesome comps, hotels have new updates and are modern, buffet is big and tastes great. Club Envy is really cool on weekends. Girl's bring you drinks dressed cute, always people cleaning, allows smoking on 3 of 4 floors of boat.
We've stayed here a couple of different times. It's a nice hotel clean rooms and comfortable spaces. The casino and other restaurants and bars offer great entertainment and a great time. Would definitely recommend this to anybody staying in the area!
The casino aswell as the hotel are extremely large and you can spend plenty of time walking back and fourth. They do offer cart rides from a to b for a fee. The hotel room was wonderful, spacious and comfortable. However it would be nice if the the hotel offered fans for guests that have trouble sleeping without them. Food however is extremely expensive, a standard 12oz can of soda is 3.50.. I suggest bringing your own food.
Some friends and I came to the Horseshoe to enjoy the atmosphere, the casino and the food. The service here however isn't legendary! Amidst the spacious hallways and many dining establishments. Is not case however. Everything evidently closes early. The S&R was the only thing open. And please don't make the assumption that the cool relaxed ambiance equates to the legendary they portray to be. The service staff is completely lacking the necessary skills to be in this industry.
Upon finding a seat at the bar proper, the individual claiming to be sending said bar, started that it would be 20 minutes before he was able to do anything. We asked does that include a drink, because he made no move to take our order and he again said yes 20 minutes for that as well. So before our group lost our temper we remained patient and still the staff continued to fall shorter and shorter of acceptable service.
I'm summation, unacceptable on all fronts. Never again will I make the trek to this casino resort!
My husband took me there for my birthday and really enjoyed myself. This isn't the first time I've been there. But for some reason it was the best. The staff was very nice and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The front desk gave me whatever floor and view I would like.
It was a nice time for me and my husband. We enjoyed a free night in at the hotel and didn't lose to much money at the casino. The one thing that could have been better was if the buffet had been open. Apparently it closes on Monday and Tuesday for cleaning. Our loss. We ate at the restaurant on the boat, it was quite good
This evening was a really good time. I was supposed to go see Willie Nelson in concert with my mom but she ended up not getting to go, so my husband came with me. It was a lot of fun and im glad we still went. Had a bit of trouble with my ID but the event staff was nothing but nice and helpful. I've been to horseshoe many times for many reasons, and it is always excellent, from the staff, to the hotel, to the gambling and everything in between, everything is top notch.
The actual casino is dated. The shops and rooms were more modern not saying to much. I did feel comfortable with surroundings. All the staff that I talked to was very friendly and helpful. The lake and surrounding exercise and walking path were beautiful. I enjoyed my stay
We spent the night at the hotel, ate at the sit down restaurant and played games and had drinks at the casino. The restaurant was good albeit a little high in price. We had planned on the buffet, but unfortunately it turns out that the buffet is closed on Monday and Tuesday so we didn't get to do that. The pool was recently remodeled and looks very nice. The hot tub was enjoyable as well. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the area who wants a cool overnight trip. Additionally, if you stay in the middle of the week you can get a really good deal on the room.
I have been here on multiple occasions. As far back to when this place was Caesars. Played most of the floors, bartenders where very friendly, great tables, stayed in one of the rooms. It was as expected. Clean and organized. The pool and hot tub is also a big hit for us. Clean water not too much chlorine. Usually walk away with enough extra change to pay a bill or two. Nothing big. Great place, I plan on coming back soon.
The rooms are prettier than before they remodeled, but now there's a $50 deposit (not needed before). At least they smell much better. The cleaning could've been more thorough, though. There were hairs in my tub and soap dish which I had to clean out (hardly worth the effort of calling the front desk). The slots are pretty tight, at least tighter than French Lick and Jack's in Cincinnati. The casino is the loudest casino I've ever been to. The music is blaring the second you walk into the property, and it isn't fantastic beats like Bruno Mars or top 40, it's something obscure from Woodstock. Doesn't matter what time or day I go to the casino. It's way too loud and way too weird.
