First of all they overbooked the room. We booked a penthouse and at location we receive a family suite with rooms connected ( half price same bill the receptionist said is upgrade) let's try to leave there only one night (in my mind) but dirty every corner and mirror, one glass for two people, towel with hauls, 11to 3 am music from disco (next building), 11 to 4 party next door.
And to be all good they give us transfer to airport free ( but the driver didn't know that and ask for double price)response / report this review -

Really comfortable location, very friendly staff, luxury rooms and amazing atmosphere in general!

The standard rooms is very small And the service is not good here.. For many reasons like the restaurant is in another hotel called grand star hotel as well as the swimming pool in grand star hotel in addition to this it's not working right now. Generally very bad hotel.

It was a dreadful experience to stay in Taksim star hotel in Istanbul. Rooms were so small and dirty. The staff is non cooperative. It is like nightmare. In pics. On net it shows like a 4 star hotel but in real it was below any ranking. If anyone has a booking of this hotel in near future, please consider to cancel it. Honestly, keep away from this place of fraud people.

Rooms are luxurious (although small) and view from the Bosphorus side excellent (although partially blocked by buildings). However service and maintenance are terrible:
_ Hotel cab was 40 min late for pickup from airport.
_ Receptionist showed up 40 min after we entered the hotel.
_ A/C was started 20min after we entered the room (hotel policy is to arbitrarily turn A/C off when guests exit the hotel).
_ Half of the available TVs & fridges were not working and no bath towels or hot water were available at the time of check-in.
_ Phone calls to outside lines cannot be dialed from the room (only from a portable phone at the reception).
This is not a 4-star hotel.
We decided to cancel night 2/2 of our reservation and move to MÖVENPICK for almost the same money but couldn't get a refund on the already made full payment (manager said payment during check-in is standard in Turkey hotels).response / report this review -

The hotel chain is a scam. It constantly practices bait and switch. It appears to have several properties close-by and a common answer to your complaint is that they can not do anything about it since the hotel is full.
I booked a double room, but they put me in a room barely the size of a closet without a window and with a twin bed. I can hear loud club Turkish music blare through the whole night from a bar next door. The particular hotel I stayed of the chain has no amenity what so ever and lobby is extremely drab and depressing. The taxi driver who took me there also scammed by taking the long route.
Istanbul has some spectacular sites but please be careful because there are just too many crooks trying to take advantage of innocent tourists. It remain unfortunately a sketchy place.
Avoid this hotel if you don't want your vacation ruined,response / report this review
