All the YHA hostels I've stayed at so far have been fantastic and the Wellington branch is no exception! Good wifi, showers, and beds. There are two kitchens so lots of space for cooking and storage. Will stay again

Had a fab 2 night stay here. Easy to get to, close to transport. Really close to resurant and bars, nice area! Walking distance yo mount Victoria. Stayed in 6-bed dorm, clean and good facilities. Lockers with charging points inside. Big hostel with lots of people, nice staff. Would stay here again!

We stayed there organised through our group but didn't think to rebook for those staying on. We went someone else that was terribly shockingly bad to the point we rang the YHA back and they took us back in at extreme short notice gladly. The staff are wonderful, friendly and very welcoming. The rooms are clean, neat and comfortable too! When I do more trips I'll be YHA staying as it's just as good without the massive price tag. Top job YHA welly city, you guys rock!

Great location in Wellington. It was close to lots of places of interest and some great restaurants. Facilities were what you'd expect at a YHA and were clean and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Probably the big NZ YHA. I booked for 4 beds female dorm and was not disappointed. Spacious room with individual lockable locker with two power outlets inside it, perfect when we need to charge our electronics securely. Big common kitchen and dining room with multiple sink, microwave and counter space, no need to queue. However the room is very cold in the winter, it seems the heater is not working.

Awesome hostel. Personal lockers large enough to fit at least a hand carry luggage. Personal power outlet found inside the locker as well. Free WiFi available as well as well equipped kitchen.one of the better hostels around.

Great location in downtown Wellington. We were in walking distance to the bay, and everything downtown Wellington had to offer. They don't have parking, but there are several lots and spots along the street; can be fairly cheap if you work out timing of the free parking after 6pm and before 10am (ask front desk). There is even a New World grocery right across the street for cooking at the hostel, and a coffee shop located right by the front desk.
One of the best YHA's I've stayed at. The staff was very helpful. Has 2 large kitchens and 2 dining areas, game room, and movie room as well for relaxing. Rooms were great; stayed in a 6 person dorm - style room, with its own bathroom. Very clean and had a view of the bay.

Quite a nice double private room with more space than I'd seen in other cities during my trip. There was a bit of a view of the city from my window and an en suite bathroom. The lifts were a nice touch in case you have heavy baggage. Storage lockers available at a reasonable price, free would be better of course but they are individually locked so arguably more secure than a shared luggage store. Just around the corner from the Te Papa museum so I'd say it's a decent location.

Good hostel at a good price. Plenty of activities/bars within walking distance and good access to the buses. Cafe downstairs is great for a quick cup of coffee.
