Great location to the city, an easy walk. Great restaurant, and super friendly and helpfully staff. Would certainly stay there again.

If you're looking for room m2 and descent shower pressure, Thorndon Hotel is perfect. Clean and tidy room, comfortable bed, extra long pillows a plus and little noise from traffic. A short walk to CBD and farmers market Saturdays.

I booked a room here to have a wee getaway. The hotel in is a great location in the city close to everything. The room was tidy and my stay was very peaceful no noise or the hustle and bustle of traffic. Would definitely stay here again. The room well priced and reception were easy to deal and friendly.

Great place for family. Book a family room and get a king bed and two separate single beds. Lovely free BBQ the night we were there. Very friendly and helpful staff. Certainly recommend.

Very small rooms. When I got into my room it smelled, due to the toilet having been used and not flushed, and housekeeping had not noticed. Looked (and smelled) like it had been there for a couple of days. I was quickly moved to another room - one with a single bed (apparently all they had available!). I won't be going back.

These criminals accepted our booking, took our money and conveniently lost the paperwork. The concierge was very unhelpful and could not care less about it.

Pictures appear much nicer than reality. Average service and food was extremely average. A world class chef. not so much. For the price it was poor.

The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The towels in my room had dirty handmarks on them (as did the back of the toilet door) and pubic hairs on them. The back of the toilet had hair all over it, and what appeared to be days old urine. Asked for the room to be recleaned, came back after it was supposed to be done (specifically left the room for an hour to allow them to do the job), it smelled cleaner, but the hair and urine remained. The mirror was smeared, and there was toothpaste on a wall by the sink. My coffee cup was never replaced, and my door broke twice (I could just push on it instead of using the swipe card). The breakfast smelled and tasted terrible. And my wifi never connected. Overall, the worst accommodation I have ever used. It was almost laughable. I was offered a free drink at the bar, but what I would have preferred was the problem (s) to be rectified. I was staying there whilst studying, and will be informing the education provider of the problems, and strongly suggesting that they find alternative accommodation for future students staying in Wellington.

I stayed on the fourth floor, which doesn't appear to have been renovated within the last 20 years. Was nice and clean, but very basic. For the price there are certainly better places to stay. But the photos on their website show much nicer rooms, so perhaps the other floors are nicer.

Clean, recently renovated in parts and functional. Beds comfortable and good sheets. Just don't expect any frills!
