Great hot pools here, with some nice views for you to enjoy as you soak.

Place was recommended to us by our motel owner even though more popular spa places were in closer proximity.
Worth the 15mins or so drive out to a wonderful relaxing thermal spa baths.
Plenty of carpark spaces I suggest going in the week days when its less busy (however still much quieter then the ones closer to city)
Hint: take sandals or shoes when going up the track to see the natural spring.response / report this review -

Has private rooms with outside pools for very reasonable prices. Unlike a lot of places I've seen which is more like an indoor tub. Definitely makes the experience much more pleasant.

I have been going to Waikite Hot pools with family and friends for a long time. This afternoon 11/10/2017 I went with three of my friends who are also locals. The lady at reception asked for letter with address and my 2 friends paid first with an EFTPOS card, and then when it was my friend and myself turn, I presented a letter for my upcoming appointment with a gynecologist next week, and my friend a bank statement with the banks's stamp with signature. We were asked for ID, unfortunately we left our wallets at home. lady you need drivers licence to drive and we explained that we came in one car and the lady who paid first was the one driving. Receptionist refused our cash payment because we did not have an ID. That is fine. The problem is, the first two friends were not asked for an ID before she took the payment. We decided to leave our wallet at home, just took enough money to pay the entry fee for peace of mind and security reason. A few weeks ago, we came to Waikite Hot pools and we were not asked for ID but letter with our name and address to show that we are locals. We feel that there is no consistency with your requirement for entry of locals. We are willing to pay whatever the fee set for locals or not. Maybe a sign advising what locals need to present and bring when they want to come and use your facility at the front gate would be nice. This will solve confusion. I would agree that an ID and letter with name and address would go hand in hand but why only pick some people and not all?

Always greet with friendly smile.People are friendly in the pools we met people from everywhere from around the world in Waikite Valley Hot Springs.
I just love that the pools are clean fresh hot water everyday.😊😊😊

Loved it- much more natural than Polynesian spas family area. Here it's all outdoors and even kids pool is geothermal water. Very warm. Loved natural setting. Loved the Eco walk up to view spring source too. Beautiful! BUT this is not a five star, flash spa for tourists with money. More a community pool for locals. Please don't come if expecting Spa Treatments etc.

What a great place. Less than 1/3rd the price of the Polynesian Spa, and yes it is a wee way out of town, but well worth the drive.
We had the spa plus package with the private pool, complimentary towels and mineral water. If you like the option to go hot hot then the private pools are awesome, you can adjust the temperature but do be careful and keep the water moving or you might get scalded. There is a café / Bar on site. I had a very nice cake and coffee whilst I waited for my Partner to turn into a shrivelled prune after 3hrs in the water. My favourite hot pools. Make sure you take five minutes after you have paid, but before you have changed into your togs, to walk to Te Manaroa spring (the pool water source). 50 litres/second of near boiling hot water pumping out of the earth Amazing!

Great spot to go after a long hike nearby. Blissful at the end of a long day. The private pools are very secluded, behind a locked door, so they're suitable for more shy people. Paying for your own room also gives you access to the public pools for before or after. Pretty good!
The walk up to the source spring is easy and interesting. Well worth taking a few minutes before going down for a soak.response / report this review -

Always our go to place to stay in Roto. $22 covers camping + pool use both days or $16 for a single day. Great camping amenities, clean kitchen. Relaxing pools
