  It's a great place to take time out. Close enough to the town to not be out of touch but far enough away to be away from the maddening crowd. Great facilities, loved the sauna even though it keeps dropping in temp and you have to wait a long time before it reheats. The steam room is hot. There are some great front of office staff as well, but unfortunately some not so nice ones as well. As a hotel its good, they do tend to spray something in the rooms that made me choke and want to air the room before sleeping in it - smelt like someone had used a very cheap perfume spray.. Otherwise it's an ok place to stay.

  Beautiful setting on the lake edge. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is yet again outstanding. The free onsite hot pool, sauna, steam room & spa pools are tucked away between greenery besides the Spa where you can enjoy many treatments.

  We had dinner here tonight, after a friendly welcome into the restaurant we were hopeful of wonderful food.
  
  The staff had the very best of intentions, but they were spread too thinly running from table to table. Admittedly tonight was saturday of easter weekend so we need to cut a little slack here.
  
  30 mins for the sparkling water to arrive.. a bit long!
  
  All of the meals were tepid in warmth, flavours uninspired and the mashed potato so cold that we sent it back as the knob of butter on top would not melt. Kumara chips also cold.
  
  The wine we ordered was a nice Pinot noir - volcanic something.. must try to remember it.
  
  Won't be going back.

  Amazing place. Great customer service from Binod. The best to do anything and everything. Nice view and clean room. The best part of the place is its popular fine diningrestaurant. We will go again.

  I have heard through the grapevine this place offers massage by non-Maori and touts it as 'Mirimiri'.as a traditional practitioner of Mirimiri and Romiromi I find it culturally inappropriate and personally offensive that traditional practice and knowledge is being used in this way - for commercial profit :-( FYI using elbows instead of hands does not make it mirimiri!!

  Great massage,
  room was ok but was spoiled by being disturbed by staff despite being asked not to.
  Suffers from sand flies in the summer, so doors and windows have to be kept shut at night.
  Pool could do with more loungers.
