Perfect place to relax, have a beer & watch the world go by but don't go for the food as it's way below casual pub food standard. Bar staff & waitresses were very pleasant and obliging but new chef required.

Ambience terrible. Loud music and the smell of cigarettes. Tables dirty and decor tired and shabby. Just like the staff. Waited too long for service and meal. But, food was good.

Worst dining experience in NZ so far :( I'm writing this review as I wasn't able to tell them because they never asked "how was everything?".
I had the nachos - the salsa tasted more like a mix between ketchup, salsa and BBQ sauce, the mince is in a bowl with cheese on which made it very difficult to eat, oh and the nachos - nacho crumbs that is - i ate about 5 pieces.
My parents both ordered the ribs, and they were way too spicy considering it didn't say anything about being hot on the menu. My mom couldn't finish them due to her burning mouth. The BBQ sauce had lots of curry in it (??), and it was just super disappointing.response / report this review -

My partner and I went there on a very quiet night, maybe three other tables. Saw the special was a snitty with mushroom sauce, can't go wrong with a schnitzeloh but this place can!! Ordered one with mushroom, asked if we could change the other to pepper sauce. Was told by the gentleman who took our order that it was possible. Both schnitzels came out with gravy on themnot even the "special". Asked if we were able to get the correct sauces (1 X pepper, 1 X mushroom) waitress said she will go and ask then came out with 2 X mushroom sauces in a bowl for us to pour on top of the gravy. Upon asking her for the pepper sauce we had originally ordered she said she would have to check with the kitchen as it costs extra!! To then come back and tell us they refuse to do it because it costs extra. Surely after getting wrong twice you would think $1.50 would be better than an unhappy customer who won't be going back and a bad review!

Do yourself a favor and choose another restaurant and bar. Decent beer, but the food was lacking and the kitchen wasn't open when the restaurant opened around 3pm (had to wait until about 4). The manager was a royal prick (the bartender even said "sorry about him"), and sealed the deal for me not returning here.
