Visiting Christchurch for the week, on our first night we were brought to Burgers & Beers Inc to meet up with friends for a casual bite.

One can say the burgers were excellent value for money, the place didn’t have any air of pretentiousness other than being a quirky, straightforward diner with a few craft beers thrown in the mix. It genuinely felt like an American-style diner, with a fun hammer-horror twist. It captured the US burger-bar feel perfectly, right down to the help-yourself filter coffee. The burgers themselves were big, but a bit sloppy in the construction.

I was on a special diet and had to commend them on how easily they adapted the menu to create something suitable, in my case a fish salad. It had great flavor, especially the wasabi mayo. Tom was a great server, very amicable and he remembered who had which burger when delivering to the table.

I understand Burgers & Beers is a few years old now; it has that feel, the fixtures and furniture showing the age a bit and could use some upkeep.

On balance great fare for students and real casual dining, but for my companion the burger experience was a bit lacking compared to other eateries in the same genre.

What an experience! Not only were the staff inviting and a joy to talk to, the food was incredible too! I'd had a relatively late breakfast and still found the room to finish their out of this world "Sunday Roast" burger. Their fries were also phenomenal. Brilliantly coupled with their gravy, they were the perfect ratio of potato to crispness.

I'll certainly be back and won't think twice about it.

Amazing burgers. The bun is spot on and the patties are to die for. Some amazing flavours and friendly staff to boot. Will go again, and again, and again. Best burgers in Christchurch!

The staff have great banter, always busy all the time. Burgers are huge and well priced. Chips and gravy is the best, great place to go for a midnight snack with friends as it's open late

Made a couple of visits to this place. Lots of burgers to choose from, but the beer selection is very minimal. Also the ambience could be improved. Nice place for a burger though.

Fantastic veggie burger options, and their onion rings are great. I recommend that you avoid ordering at really busy times though. The quality of the food is much better when the cooks aren't rushed.

Awesome service (thanks Tom!), really cool space with fantastic food. James is awesome too, buy him a drink and he'll tell you the secret to longevity! And more recently, Geo (I think that's how you spell it) has been making some awesome custom burgers. Appreciate you guys (and girls)

Great burgers and the staff are awesome. If something's not right they'll fix it up asap. Can get pretty busy and noisy but great atmosphere and vibe. Best place for a light night bite!

Onion Rings were great. The Venison burger i got there previous was great. But my god you should be bloody ashamed to serve up what you call the Pulp Fiction. Im fuming i paid that much(13.50) money for this excuse of a burger. It actually tasted like a McDonalds burger,and had the same dry cardboard taste as well as being as flat as one. Complete rage i have : (.

Randomly found this place while on vacation. Ended up ordering the "Tree Hugger", replaced roast Portobello mushroom with avacado. Was pleasantly surprised how good the burger was. I hate burgers and i rarely find good burgers that make me crave but this one did. Highly recommend fellow vegetarians to go and try their "Tree Hugger"

We were recommended to try this place for great burgers and chips. The place is quite basic and themed in 50's horror. But the burgers were great and chips were amongst the best eaten, which is the reason for going there. It was nice to wash down with a local brew and listen to the band playing in the car park outback.
