The waiting staff was friendly, the food was ok but what was most disappointing was the owner/relation decision to do DIY 20 feet from where we were eating, before we finished eating so all the saw dust went to our eyes food everywhere. His contempt by carrying on when we were clearly affected!! We had to leave our food go!! Absolute disgrace!!!

Meals were lovely. Coffee was cold and I was probably warmer outside

I went with a group of 9 people and by the end of the evening most of us has our jackets on. The plastic seats are cold and the heat from the fire didnt reach to the corners of the dining area. This is the second time I have dined here that I was cold. Our desserts arrived over a period of 15 minutes some of us already had finished our desserts while others were still waiting. A nice setting tho. Just needs a shake up

Lovely staff and setting..had ribeye steak..was like it was sliced in half and more like a thick schnitzel ..but was tender..prob would've just made use by date..salad with it was six dollars extra but fresh and well presented..meal was over priced for around $40 with a coffee. .a flat white was strong and perfect. .other family had leek and potato soup with a toasted sandwich for $14 each and we're very happy. .lots of pork in menu including toasted sandwiches

Terrible! The worst dining experience of our South Island trip. The staff were welcoming. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The food, however, was very disappointing. The fish of the day was gurnard. One small overcooked fillet, bulked up with a lot of potato. The snapper and chips was unbelievably bad - one small portion of dry, tasteless and very overcooked fish, far worse than anything from a takeaway bar. Would not recommend and would not return.

Food was ok. Staff were a bit frantic and a little rude even though it didn't seem very busy. Great location and nice outdoor eating area (unfortunately it was raining when we were there though).

Big portions, but not so special. Food was OK. Staff was friendly and the service is quick.
