Fantastic cute little café with wonderful facilities and great, super fresh food menu! Don’t miss out a stroll through the animal parc and pet their adorable goats, deers, poneys, pigs and donkey.

Cute little cafe nestled on the side of the road. Will do a vegan potato curry and side bread with vegan smoothies. Make sense, animal free food at an animal park.

Last time we visited this establishment we found many faults some of which are listed below:
Totally not disability friendly, no wheelchair access to the toilets (these were outside & up rather steep steps), water on floors, yes it was raining but there was no mats of any description on the floor.
As a group, which included people meeting from Nelson, St Arnaud, Murchison and Reefton, we were instantly made to feel unwelcome.
We were then served between other customers coming in. Some of our group waited up to an hour for their meal.
I could list more, but that's when it gets to the blah blah blah.
Since our last visit the place has got new owners and they have made improvements but we won't be seeing them as we're going to the River Cafe which takes bookings for groups of people wanting to meet in Murchisonresponse / report this review -

Definitely a must stop! Great food and the nicest people you could find in New Zealand. Also the smartest sheepdogs I've ever seen!

Most terrible service I have ever experienced at a cafe before. The attitude of I'm guessing the owner was horrible. As we got questioned for using the bathroom before buying food like we where being told of like naughty kids. My friend was generaly not well and we had every intention of buying food. She just didnt walk through the cafe to use tolilet! As being in the tourism industry myself I was shocked by how rude she was to the point I felt to uncomfortable and didn't want anything just to leave! Then she asked for money in cash for using the bathroom we refused as she was so rude I didn't feel like we owed her anything! Being an animal lover and an animal cafe I hope she treats the animals better than she did with us!

One of the better food and coffee shops in and around Murchison. Indoor and out door seating available, clean rest rooms and a great selection of food and drinks available. Great place for kids to visit as there's an animal farm you can wander through.

Good stop for a leg stretch. Coffee was okay. Many many sandflies! Wear insect repellant if you want to see the animals. Exotic ducks and rabbits.

Friendly welcome, great food, drink and outdoor space. Animal park great for kids too. Most welcome break on a very long road, well worth a stop!

Unfriendly service. It's no wonder the place is for sale. Perhaps with better management and a business model that encouraged folks to sit and relax, rather than demand orders from all people who hope to use the restroom in a group. Just keep going to the next town.
