The rooms are in a historic building on the main street. We found it less well appointed and much higher priced than most other places we stayed in NZ.

So welcoming! The first time I came was with my dog. Never have I felt so welcomed; great seats, a water bowl and such a warm greeting. Been back a few times, and even now, the first word that comes to mind is WELCOMED. This place treats everyone like a local and it's just so nice. Enjoyable for a drink or a meal, you know they'll make you feel like a friend.

Best retreat on Waiheke Island, if you get a chance to book one of the Oyster Inn's three rooms, jump on it. Barista coffee to your room, and exclusive use of the restaurant for breakfast for guests only, both make you feel like a VIP. The rooms are superbly designed and turned out, and honestly, worth hanging out in just because. Every stay should include plans to gorge on the Oyster Inn's spectacular menu, drink the great Waiheke wines on offer, and walk away with world class memories.

When other places nearby on Waiheke are empty, Oyster Inn might well be packed to the gills. It's a cute, woodsy, island-y setting that reminds me of New England. Always a fish of the day like my 4/5 flounder and shrimp in miso chili butter. Oysters were great, a different taste altogether from coastal US oysters. Get the Man o War sauvignon blanc. Local winery, brilliant wine. Service was decent when not attempting a wine upsell.

We cannot recommend this place enough! Delicious food, original dishes with fresh, local ingredients, amazing wine, very friendly staff and the view is just stunning. You can't miss out on this one!
