Pay before you arrive if not you pay 5 more dollars per night, backpackers there are no hand towels or hand soap for bathrooms, no free WiFi 5 dls 200mb or connect to spark cabin outside. It's backpackers but I have stayed in better ones Happy travels

I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. The staff are entirely unfriendly and unhelpful. The beds are awful. The overall feel is just plain icky. Plus, I accidentally left a bag in my room and I'm quite certain the cleaning staff stole it but the front desk staff completely denied it. The location is not worth it. Pay the extra money and get a lift into town to a better place!

Arriving at the prearranged time of 1AM, the night staff of the hostel were grumpy. The dormitories that catered for 20+ people had a tiny kitchen area and 2 full bathrooms. All the furniture is dilapidated to a point that one almost feels unsafe using it. I considered giving them another star for the fact that they're near the airport and we were able to check-in at such a late hour. But looking back they don't deserve any stars at all!

The cemetery across the road is much more cozy. It's more like a prison than a hostel. You have to pay for internet vouchers. You have to pay for absolutely everything. Ends up not being cheap at all. WORST HOSTEL I'VE EVER BEEN TO. Stay only in case of emergency!

Holy cow. Reserved a night in advance. Arrived to check in and was told that my reservation was "requested" and not "confirmed." Asked why they would send me an email with a booking reference number if I didn't have a booking and they stopped responding to my questions. Avoid this place like its got bedbugs.

HORRIBLE, RUN AWAY!! Don't waste your money for a management who doesn''t care about their clients. It is a shame. I have been in a lot of backpacker in my life and honestly this one is the worse for the money asking. A horrible smell of a mix of old cigarette and old mouldy building. You have only a pillow case and one sheet clean. An old blanket with dried saliva and a bed protector with old blood stain. Bathroom was clean but no towels or soap to clean your hands after use. I am a health and safety coordinator and I can't believe they don't even have soap in bathroom. I didn't stay the night, I lost my money but found a more descent hotel who actually care for their clients.

Checked into this place as it was great location from the airport. Still walking back from the city. It's been 3 days. Great mushrooms on offer at breakfast with your cornflakes. Was woken up at 3am to a plane going over head could've at least warned me it was near the airport. Didn't offer free drugs guys snoring. Ugly guys around no talent.

I made a "reservation" (online) at the airport. I got an email with a confirmation number. I walked all the way there and the receptionist told me that she just cancelled my "reservation" (while I'm standing there) because every room was already booked. No remorse. I probably should have called.. but either way that's a huge website fault.

I was charge $60 for a bed in a 6 bed dorm and next morning I ask the front desk if I could have a cup of coffee (since there coffee machine was out of order) they said, " if I paid $15 for the continental breakfast then I could have coffee. I had to walk 10min in the rain to the nearest Cafe. Horrible all the way around

Extremely bare-bones accommodation, but if all you need is a bed near the airport, it's better than sleeping in a lounge. It's run-down by NZ standards but adequate in that I never feared for my health or well-being - the sheets are clean and dry, no bugs or rodents in the premises, & bathrooms appear to be cleaned regularly.
Note that you check in for the hostel at the front desk of the hotel.response / report this review
