This is not sangeets I rang to order asked of this is sangeets they said yes got to address was totally not sangeets sorry but the operating under a famous Indian restaurant name the butter chicken tasted like tomatoe soup wasnt tandoori chicken this was our favourite restaurant when visiting auckland where is saniel and his beautiful wife and his amazing cooksvery disappointed and shocked at the prices $54 for butter chicken and korma and it tasted like $2:40 wattie can mixbring back the original owners and cooks who made the food from scratch and not this cheap imatationnever buying again

It is now known as the Grand Havelli. Good food but takes a while to get the food after the order is placed. Their Indian Chai (tea) is actually quite awful - but generally the food itself is quite good.

Worst restaurant experience ever
I had my son’s first birthday dinner at D Grand Haveli on 26th December 2016. I had booked table for 20 people, banquet menu including on tray, main course and desert for $36 per person. I was really disappointed with the food and service they provided. Guests had to wait really long time for the food to arrive. And finally when we got the food there was not enough food, not even enough for 10 people. By the time the mains were served, 4-5 guests had already left. Every time I asked for top up, the waiter kept telling me “2 minutes” and never got served. The desert I had booked was ice cream with topping of either strawberry or caramel. But what I’ve got was a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. My wife and I had our dinner back at home that night. In the next morning I started receiving reviews from my guests. None of them were happy about the food or the service. Also the food did not taste good at all. South Auckland is a place where you can get authentic Indian food for less than $12. I felt extremely embarrassed about the party I hosted. I would not recommend anyone to go to D Grand Haveli.

Our first visit here, shame we ended up being the only lunchtime diners. It did seem weird being here on our own. One advantage was that we did not have long to be served.

The food was very good and enjoyable, there was not enough left over to fill a small doggie bag. That was a good sign too!!

We have a good excuse to go back and enjoy the atmosphere one evening, or two ..
