  Oban is a beautiful place. Winter when I was there so very quiet and peaceful. I hear it's much busier in summer. The downside of winter is that everything other than the shl.p. shuts at about 2pm. I did a guided tour that was very interesting, though with only 27km of road it didn't take long. Didn't take in any more of the park other than Ulva.

  Eenmaal bij de start waren ging onze eerste stuk tocht over de zelfde pad als de Rakiura Great Walk. We zagen al mooie stranden waaronder de Halfmoonbay en Lee Bay. Maar wij overnachten bij de Bungaree Beach en dan beweert men dat je niet voor niets kunt genieten op een privé strand. Deze stranden waren dan ook echt geweldig. In onze hut zat een jager uit Dunedin hij had al een hert geschoten. Herten horen dan ook niet thuis op deze eiland. 's Avonds waren er 7 man in totaal in de hut.
