Amazing Weekend, Well organised and great fun.
The owner and the girls were all friendly, and helpful and I couldn't fault anything, the food was plentiful and yummy and I felt spoiled after my trek. beat my expectations so 5 stars in my book. Will definitely do another visit at some point :)

We're a group of 6 who booked the Whanganui River guided canoe trip through Owhango Adventures. Grant was awesome and took care of our needs; making us feel welcomed at his accommodation. It's not a five star hotel but it was comfortable and had everything we needed - it was very appreciated as Grant provided the accommodation free of charge. He's a top bloke as well as Diane. They were both easy to deal with, nothing was too much trouble and so down to earth. Grant even went out of his way early in the morning to get us fresh milk as we forgot to bring our own and didn't even take our money for it.

Our canoe trip was memorable and spiritually fulfilling. You can canoe on the river yourself. However, our Maori guide (Darren) made our trip extra special with a real cultural experience. He also made us feel safe at all times and uplifted us when we were tired. Top bloke who also went out of his way to help others when their canoes capsized - even though it was freezing and these people weren't even a part of our group. Darren has an amazing voice and true talent for creating his own funny lyrics about each member of our group. He sang for us as we were drifting along the river - such an unforgettable experience. If you have a Maori guide - definitely ask them to sing for you. Would highly recommend Owhango Adventures for the canoe trip - they're awesome and value for money.

Cozy and we were treated like family. It has a bar and a cafe with a small local shop inside :)

Had an awesome time with our fantastic host. Grant and his daughter put on a great time and made sure our group of 14 was well looked after and fed. The rooms are basic but for the price its outstanding value. The steak eggs and chips are generous even after a day paddling and the drinks prices at the bar are very reasonable. We did a self guided 4 hour trip down the river and everything was just easy. Thank you!

Just returned from a lovely trip in New Zealand back to Melbourne. I must say the guided Whanganui River canoe trip was fantastic. I have being an avid canoer for a while and the Whanganui from all accounts was the river to canoe on and it didnt disappoint. I also really enjoyed the Maori culture.

Thank you for a great day.
