TA Hiker. Camped on the doc site but went in to get food and refreshments. Didn't feel welcomed at all. More like an annoyance to the crew behind the counter.
Got food and desert which was really good though. But the focus seemed to be pleasing the Stray customers rather than us TA Hikers.
Lovely place, great people, yum food and so much to do
Friendly staff and affordable breakfast, rustic setting
A totally quite place. Good for those would would love hunting
Beautiful setting and well appointed hostel style rooms with separate bathroom and kitchen facilities. Lovely deck in front of rooms and firepit down below. Well situated for viewing the blue duck and other local wildlife. Owners are very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for making me feel so welcome.
The best place in the world.
Great accommodation and amazing activities.
New and clean facilities with organic food in the restaurant. Middle of nowhere so very calm and quiet. Beautiful surroundings.
Our favorite place in all of New Zealand. If you are interested in experiencing the true feeling of a New Zealand farmer this place is for you. The station is beautiful and vast and is off the beaten path. Blue Duck Station is the kind of place you can go and completely "un-plug". When you go make sure you bring everything you need, your closest grocery/gas etc is about an hour drive on a gravel road. While you are there make sure you take part in their amazing activities. They offer everything from horseback riding to hunting.
Another wonderful part about the station is their commitment to conservation. They are helping create habitat for the Blue Duck and all other native species. This is a must stop location while you are in New Zealand!
