Great place to stay. Warm, comfortable and good facilities. We used the kitchen (everything you need inclung plates cutlery etc), lounge (huge with a great open fire and bar) shuttle for the Tongariro crossing, drying room and spa. They are a mine of local information including weather and to cap it all off, their rates are very reasonable. Best!!

Excellent service. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive - going above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Facilities were clean and had everything we needed. Great cosy fire to relax in front of after hiking the Tongariro Crossing. Highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful service at Piper's lodge. Comfy and a beaut large fire to warm up after the Tongariro crossing. Great bar, and the hosts put on the all backs game for us. 😀👍 Definitely would stay here again. Ideal having a spa after the walk too. 😊👌

Nice big clean lodge with own rental facilities. Large common area with free coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. Common area does have lights off at 10pm. The pool table, and foosball table require coins in order to be operated. the arcades were out of order. The wifi is limited requiring a new password voucher in order to be able to access internet which is essential because there is no reception out there for data. Just have to ask for a new slip when you run out, staff are really nice about it. The 3 hot tubs are the best part in the spa room open from 3-10pm. One thing to note, they only occasionally serve dinner for a $20-25 charge otherwise you're finding dinner elsewhere at one of the 2/3 nearby spots. Staff are overall very friendly and are happy to answer any questions you have regarding places to eat, mountain conditions or other mountain related questions.

Really great place to stay. Nice basic rooms. Big common area. Hot tub is the thing you are looking for after Tongariro Crossing. Helpful staff at the reception. Will stay again. Very welcoming place, I would recommend it !

Lovely communal lounge with open fire. Comfortable bed & a spa room with 3 spas. Kitchen separate from the main complex though.

We stayed at Pipers Lodge for 4 nights with friends for my 40th birthday weekend. Bruce and Dianne were so welcoming and accommodating. They are brilliant hosts. The staff are extremely friendly and customer focused. We had the package which included dinner (a 3 course meal) and a continental/cooked breakfast. It was very reasonably priced and the food was absolutely beautiful. The lounge area is perfect for a big group and we really enjoyed having a red wine at the end of the day by the fire. The hot tubs and games room was a huge hit with the kids. We were all delighted with our experience and highly recommend staying at Piper's Lodge. Thanks so much Bruce!

Friendly helpful hosts and relaxed vibe - great for families. Definitely stay again - if your on a budget take your own food, big room to dry wet gear and laundry facilities too. Huuuge fire place and they even had street fighter 2, boom.
