Clean tidy facilities with an awesome atmosphere. Discounts at the bar beneath. I wish I could rate this 5 stars however on arrival you are not taken to your room, there is no car parking from the venue, no towels for showers, power plugs in room are restricted to one hour before they switch off. Even considering this, would definitely stay again.

clean rooms and toilet but had to be outdoor to reach toilet but all in all this hostel is awesome! perfect location and free breakfast!

Best Backpackers in town so far ! 50m from the Octagon but very quiet, very comfy rooms and top crew !
Just above the Poolhouse, with great deals at the bar, perfect place to get some rest for few days or to stay for a long time !
Free accommodation available in exchange of a short daily woofing.

Definitely a great place !

We stayed here for a night when coming down to an event in the Octagon. Very close to town, and great amenities. I have always enjoyed staying at this backpackers in Dunedin.

Beds are comfortable, free breakfast and free parking (0900-1800) if you can find a space. Toilet-shower facilities were dirty and permanently wet. The room had door open when arrived - cold. There was heater in room on 30 minute timer though. The receptionist on arrival was really grumpy.

Mostly good experience. Good, clean enough hostel and free pool. Sometimes it's the little things that get to you. We were going to stay another week but are moving off to Kiwi Basecamp in Christchurch instead. There are some minor annoyances like the wall outlets won't stay on longer than an hour - cellphones take at least 4-5 hours to charge, usually over night. That is super annoying. Same goes for the heater in the room, one hour. Limiting Internet (500mbs / day). Sounds fine until you want to download a Google map to get around (900mbs was mine this morning). Internet is the life blood of long term travelers and the only way we stay in touch with family/friends also our main source of entertainment, backing up of photos to Dropbox which automatically runs and sucks data. It's a note you can purchase additional Internet But personally I would rather pay an extra buck and not have to. Just too many nit picky rules, but otherwise a good place.

Really lovely Backpackers, great kitchen, toilets/ showers were really clean, friendly helpful reception and no noise from the bar downstairs while I was there. Really enjoyed my stay would recommend to others

I have never stayed at a Backpackers before but after staying here it was such a great experience and I would so totally come here again. The place is so amazing. I really enjoyed the free pool and free WiFi. And ON TOP of that a particular staff member named Lucy was so friendly and and helpful and made my stay worth while! So I would definitely recommend staying here.

the best backpackers in the NZ!!!
They have spacious rooms and it is very warm even in winter.
their kitchen facilities are on point
the WiFi is super fast. love the atmosphere there and if other guests are loud it is sorted out very well. the staff are very friendly and the food at the bar is delicious. they are very cheap for what they offer. and they also have a cinema!! what other backpackers have that i will definitely go there again. in fact i would even live there .
