We were recommended this resort in the information centre inTaupo and weren't disappointed. Excellent facilities and amazing views. A fantastic warm family welcome on arrival and even though the main cafe was closed when we arrived , we were offered a choice off the takeaway menu and we were not disappointed. We chose the fish and chips, the fish cooked to perfection and the gluten free batter with a hint of lemon zest was delicious and complimented the fish well.
The thermal pools which are open 24/7 are a luxurious and much needed relaxing treatment after a hard day's drive in our campervan. A new choice of delicious takeaway meals are being added to the already extensive menu, for those like us in a campervan craving good home cooked food is roast dinners and currys. The extensive choice of breakfasts again filled us up ready for another day on the road.
Can't wait to visit here againwithout doubt an excellent stay . And wholeheartedly recommended to all.
Good place to stay the night on route between Auckland and Wellington. Tidy and clean for a good price with complementary hot water pools. Simple but good food for a good price in the restaurant and very friendly and helpful owners.
The facilities were adequate. WiFi coverage was poor. Plenty of parking
Fantastic place and great price. A joy to go with the family. The motel has several pools in great shape.
Cheap & lovely. Friendly staff, awesome views. Free hot pools. Our 2nd visit & we will be back next trip!
Location was good size was great but a pity about the dirty cloths left under the bed and a vacuum before we start writing arrived would of been nice
Got a grab one deal. Great value. Breakfast was hearty and owners pleasant and obliging as we wanted an early breakfast. Motel was spacious good shower pressure. Hot pools were wonderful
Good base point for Tongoriro hike but in terms of camping the place is pretty tired. Showers and toilets are serviceable and the kitchen will do the trick but definitely don't choose it for the hot pools on offer. Rooms and bungalows may prove nicer, but we camped (powered). No free WiFi.
Very old. It had most of the basics: shower, toilet, towels, fridge, tv But there was no shampoo and no cooker. It has thermal water facilities which are it need of maintenance. General cleanliness is poor. You get 500 MB on Wi-Fi. After that you have to pay.
The staff were nice people. We got a chance to paint a watercolor as the light was beautiful. The campsite was too much money just to sleep on dirt. $22 per person for a couple is $44 when $6-8 per person would be much more acceptable.
We stayed in one of the motels which had everything we need. The shared kitchen was a bit dated but fully functional. They also have mineral pools which can be used free of charge, pretty cool bonus for staying there.
Very Reasonably priced. Motel units are fairly good (got a good night sleep in those rooms) with facilities as standard for a Motel Room. Free hot pools (to paying guests). Neat and tidy amenities Cabins perhaps not as good. (Mattresses in each cabin unit the group were last assigned were worn, few of us slept well). Will happily continue to stay there in the Motel Units when I'm next around the area, but will perhaps avoid the Cabins.
