The meal was very nice but the waitress was hard to understand.

So far very tardy experience. Waited a full 15 minutes after being seated before anyone came with a menu and even then we still had to ask about drinks. The young waitress did apologise for the delay which was appreciated and did lift my rating by 1 star. Now it is 45 minutes since arriving and our entrees have arrived.
Once they arrived the whole picture changed. The spring rolls were delicious and curry puffs quite tasty too. My satay vegetables arrived soon after and were delicious. The Pad Thai ordered by my wife Joy was also delicious - almost enough to increase the rating by yet another star.
Overall, the whole meal was well worth the wait.response / report this review -

Top place, great hosts!
We have a large family with four children, so places to stay are limited. We were told that Alpine had a family unit which would accommodate. We booked straight away in case we missed out. I then read some reviews and all of them were bad. ranging from very noisy to just "Don't stay here". I was a little worried but thought "hey we're pretty noisy anyway so lets see how it goes"..
I don't know where these bad reviews came from. I guess only people that have time to moan really take time to write reviews. So I have decided to take the time to write a review that this place deserves. We had a wonderful four days in Ohakune, Made even better by the Alpine Motel. The hosts are warm and friendly and gave me all the recommendations I needed. The unit was well designed, warm and cosy with a heater and electric blankets and had a modern large bathroom. We even had a free spa right by our unit. I didn't hear any noise and it was in the middle of school holidays. I only wish we had time or less kids to try the alpine motel restaurant as it looked pretty popular with others.

A+++++++++++++++ stayed herein nov 2006 , brilliant , clean and tidy , made to feel very welcome , the perfect hosts ,HIGHLY RECOMENDED
