Long wait time for meal (40 mins) and dessert (25 mins). Great looking food and great service but the food tasted normal. In the end it felt like an expensive fine dining experience with average tasting food.

Outstanding food, service and beverage selection. I dined here with 5 friends last night, all of us being foodies. I ordered the Thai yellow curry, two of our group had the eye fillet, one had the lamb, one the venison and one the chicken breast. None of us could fault our meals. Compliments to the Canadian chef and the friendly and entertaining staff, nothing was a problem. Will definitely be back and will recommend to all.

This place was great. Good food and a great atmosphere. The menu had a good variety of dishes to choose from and included a kids menu which was also appreciated.
The wine list was also good and we enjoyed a nice Syrah with dinner.
Also excellent value for money, especially in comparison with some of the other restaurants and cafes in Ohakune.

Bearing Point was recommended by locals and definitely lived up to the talk. The menu offers great selection of upmarket choices and delivers on promises. Portions are generous, so even the pricier main courses are still good value for money. Watch for a touch of Canada in the menu and in the decor. Bookings are necessary during ski season.
