Hotel itself is tired, but that is no excuse for blocked shower & subpar housekeeping. Thick dust on surfaces, grubby black hand marks above toilet & black ring around bath tub. We were changed rooms for our second night (because of blocked shower ) second room poor housekeeping also. Staff very friendly, but offered no apologies or acknowledged our inconveniences. Really not worth what they charge per night. I have sent email to them, but they are yet to reply. KEEP LOOKING MUCH NICER PLACES TO STAY.

Well what a shame was really looking forward to staying, BUT had shower and bath was blocked told reception to find out they already knew about it. And to find NO directory in room to explain whats available there was shocking. Sorry but believe for the price its a rip of. As for the restarunts they were amazing.

The rooms provide the minimal basics you need to stay but are looking old and out dated. Attention to detail is missed, eg bed side lamp not working, curtain not hung up properly, and cleaning could be approved

We spent just two nights here shortly after Christmas 2009. We arrived late & exhausted after driving all the way from Wellington, but the English lady who met us (owner/manager I think) was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The views over the lake were also very pleasant.
Anyway, I would recommend this hotel to a friend in a heartbeat.response / report this review
