Looking for all weather jackets, or sports gear ? Kathmandu is the place to go. The locals recommended the place to us and must say their choice and variety is awesome.

Its a big store and a lot of things over there in case you forgot to get something before your hike) i always get my thermals and socks there:)

Deliberately tried to sell me a defective bag. The sales assistant brought the bag out after i had paid and i immediately noticed that the plastic cover was open and that the stitching on the side was defective. I asked for anther and she returned with a sealed product free of defects. Still, the whole episode makes we wary of Kathmandu Queenstown.

The staff were having training in store today and their teachers were loud and obnoxious blocking access for customers. Staff that were working had poor product knowledge and no idea where products were located. Disappointing!

3Nov16 a typical Kathmandu store you can find in one of many places in New Zealand and Australia. Busy'ish but staff are helpful. Expensive. Even when products are on SALE. Bought a pair of men's highly insulated and low resistance (to movements and flexure) gloves - great for use in rain and heavy wind.
