Great stay loved the mineral spa clean tidy and friendly. Only one commentsomeone needs to turn the fridge door around as it's currently hinged on the right and should be moved to the left to give easier access.

Great place to stay, the staff are really friendly and the rooms are nice and clean. Loved the studio suite, very cosy. Mineral spa bath was awesome. It looks like every room has a mineral spa bath, though the studio rooms have it inside because they are upstairs.

Nice owners, good location and the spa pools were great. Some more maintenance needed though

One night stay at karaka motel on 12 Aug. horrible experience rooms old school and muggy stains on bed. plates and cups old and marks like over used.

$185 not worth for twin unit.
Show notice above fridge at 10pm if any snack missing than report .but office closed and we had to leave early next morning still office closed so did not inform as one pkt chips was missing . Instead we charged for more snacks as drinks and nuts with chips which we never used upon asking on phone on Tue 15th lady not believing me saying i can b lieing as others customers do.. riping $13 for nothing
My advice never book this motel and lady also rude as
I dont recomend this karaka motel to any one many other nice motel near by ..dont get riped.

I absolutely loved this place and glad to be in Karaka Tree Motel !
The spa was perfect and this is true after serching a lot this is unic motel with a natural volcanic water spa. Very nice atmosphere and super super clean, I swear is the first motel I ever been where is not smelling anything, feels everything like new. Highly reccomend !

My parents booked here for a short mini break and would have been my farther's first trip away since his stroke last year. Due to the recent earthquakes they decided to postpone their trip by a week and stay close to home partly due to lack of sleep and not wanting to drive tired and stressed and partly on advice from Civil Defence to stay close to home. When they rang the hotel to change the dates the lady on the booking line was incredibly rude and refused to let them change their booking. In the end after much argument she allowed them to cancel. This is completely unacceptable service and showed an absolute lack of empathy. Shame on you for treating two elderly people who had just been through a series of earthquakes so badly!
